Dear valued customer,

Effective 2 May 2013, the fee for Interbank GIRO or IBG transactions performed online via internet banking and mobile banking will be 10 sen per transaction.

Thank you.

Maybank made the announcement shortly ago.

It's actually a Bank Negara directive more than a month ago.

Since there were no official announcement from most bank, there is a concern the banks might request for a delay for this directive.

Maybank finally made this official only today.

I would like to ask opinion regarding booking home from Agoda:

1. Should I convert the payment to MYR?
2. Should I book from Agoda website or go to M2U in order to get the discount from MBB?

Agoda uses a London processor?

1. I always convert so that I know how much is that in MYR. However, some commented that currency quoted in USD is cheaper than MYR.
2. Yes, this is what I have been doing.

Not sure about the London thingy but my bookings did show LONDON GB as well.

Yup ... I can reaffirm that in any event that the merchant terminal or the system asks whether you want to be charged in MYR or the foreign currency, please select the foreign currency. I always notice that the conversion is bad is you were to choose to be billed in MYR.

Agreed. Tested by booking 2 of the same room. One with USD and one with MYR. Card used is Maybank 2 Card Master.

1. Always, always, always choose to pay in USD. Can refer to my conversation wit cempedaklife regarding this Agoda booking.

2. Need to access the page through M2U. Or directly if you have the Maybank Agoda link. To book through the usual Agoda website won't get you any rebate. And you should see the rebate before you submit your payment. If you don't see it, then something's wrong.

always choose to go agoda through the maybank rather than agoda directly. through bank, u will get 6% using master/visa (until some date).

However, do try going to agoda through hotelscombined.com as well. although u don't get the 6%, sometimes, for certain hotel, the hotel rate is lower if going through this portal to agoda.
