i have a question.. if i wanna buy a tv as example worth rm1200 and wanna use amex to pay 12 months installment (rm100/month)..so what is d transaction look like? its rm1200 or just rm100 in the month i purchased?

I have one question, perhaps the silly one. If I opt for 0% installment for 12 months, the full amount will be blocked on my credit limit until I paid off all installment amount right? Can I pay the full amount in advance (maybe 6 months before) to clear my credit limit?
your available credit will be block, but cash rebate (if amex at weekend) will calculate upfront, where you will maxed up rm50 rebate if you sign at weekend.
the charges however will show only at your statement day, 001/012, 002/012 and go on.

i believe you can..

TnC for TP

The Principal Cardholder is entitled to earn TreatsPoints on retail purchases made with his/her Maybankard for purposes of personal consumption only, i.e. non-business and non-commercial related consumption only. Maybank reserves the right not to award TreatsPoints on retail spend which Maybank deems to be purchases made for business and commercial purposes using the Maybankard.

doh.gif  Got my card today, wanted to ask the same question, i.e. is visa the default card now cuz when I filled up the form there was no choice of Visa or Mastercard. All the late night studying posts in this forum and Gen-X's blog posts almost gone to waste aiyaaah~ Wanted to get MBB MC since I read it's got the lowest overseas transaction charge, even compared to Visa. Took care of everything just now and I forgot to even *ask* if I could get MC  dry.gif  (bit of a n00b)

So:

1. Is Visa the default now; if not, where do you choose? (or the salesperson just tibai give you visa like in my case)

2. Is it possible to change?

3. Is it even worth to change, if #2 is Yes.

Will mostly be using Visa for overseas online transaction, that's why...
thanks in advance~ notworthy.gif

1) my experience, last time the CS @ Maybankard Centre 1U told me. you want 60minutes, only applicable for MC (late 2011)
2) possible with cancellation and reapplication i believe
3) i don't think it's worth, marginal, you won't use 2nd card most of the time

Go get it change.... as for FREE replacement at the Maybankard center.

i remembered that the CS told me that broken or damaged cards that needs replacement will be charged.
not sure if this still applies
*
True Story : broken card replaced FOC.
Timeframe : 3~5 working day via Pos Laju (collected my card within 2 weeks)
Same number, however when MBB Card Centre received the request, they will temporary frozen the card until you receive the new card, or at own risk to reactivate and use old card (as informed by CS)
updated edit: request changing at One Utama

but shit happen to me, Digi autobilling cancelled because of change of card (not sure is due to the front security number)

My spending on April was RM249.41 and the rebates I obtained was RM12.45. Shortfall of 2c. Sometimes it shortfall by 1c.
*
count every transaction by using the floor formula in excel
=FLOOR(X*0.05,0.01)
it round down to nearest 1 cents.

eg:
39.99 x 0.05 = 1.9995
even round is 2, but the rebate should only 1.99

i record every transaction, and this formula is tally with rebate

Guys, how ezypay 0% interest works? will we entitled for 5% cashback?
*
ezypay monthly installment = total charged amount/total agreed month (if settle monthly, no interest charged)

yes, full amount upon the purchase (if fall in saturday and sunday) and upon quota (max rebate RM50 per month)
