QUOTE(eumoramaniac @ Jan 10 2013, 03:01 PM) Hi all, I wish to know the resetting period of the bill. Is it reset according to calendar month (ie the first day of every month) or it is according to the first day since the card is activated? are u saying about the cashback or what? cashback rm50 cap calculated based on calendar month 1st to last day of month.I'm sorry for this stupid question and i apologize if this question have been asked. if you are talking about what transaction need to be paid on what time, depends on ur statement date. |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jan 15 2013, 12:07 PM) For AA case, I think it is quite subjective, as they put it under different title as "Convenience Fee", which is sort of an intangible service. As compared to let's say purchase something physical at shops, where you can see the list price, and then the 2-3% added into the invoice/receipts. i agree with this, this statement, not the AA action..name it differently, and there u go, a loophole in the law. i bet if u sue them, u can't even win. |

QUOTE(ianthensome @ Jan 16 2013, 12:39 PM) Which card are they supposed to charge service tax of RM50, the AMEX or Mastercard/Visa? Because I saw a charge on my AMEX but it was also cancelled out becaue of payment, however I never paid or applied my treatpoints for it. does it matter where it is charge to?however, mine was always charged on my visa. p/s mod: it seems my posts are not combined, i pretty sure i did not check the "do not combine post" option. i purposely look for the option. QUOTE(puggy323 @ Jan 22 2013, 03:39 PM) I was offered two cards by maybank - AMEX and Visa Gold.. like what human nature said..I would probably use it for petrol ,paying the insurance , grocerry shopping.. estimated monthly spending for these is RM600-RM800. which card I should use? visa = 1x treatpoints = about 0.5% rebate from ur spending amex = 5x treatpoints anyday+ 5% rebate capped at rm50 per month if used on weekends = 2.5% on weekdays or 7.5% rebate on weekends.. but not all place accept amex.. go read it up. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 21 2013, 04:16 PM) I don't know why is it so. But anyway, to book through the Agoda Maybank landing page will still be cheaper. See below: i think it's not applicable to every situation..Agoda website accessed through hotelscombined.com [attachmentid=3314926] Maybank Agoda website [attachmentid=3314928] The one redirected from hotelscombined.com may appears cheaper at first, but it comes with absolutely no discount. However, if you were to book through Maybank Agoda website with your Maybankard VISA or MasterCard, the final price after factoring in the 6% discount is actually cheaper than hotelscombined. Do note that the price shown to you is a before discount price. The 6% discount will only be reflected after you have entered your Maybankard VISA/MC card number (see attachment 2). It is applicable for MY-issued Maybank credit cards too. Initially the webpage language is in Malay (www.agoda.com.my/maybank), but when i change the language to English, the webpage is refreshed to www.agoda.com/maybank. The .com.my is gone but discount is still applicable to MY-issued Maybank credit cards. Gen-X and zenquix did a comparison quite sometime ago and one should only use the MBB2 AMEX on weekend, provided your haven't used up your weekend 5% cash back and you are sure the transaction date will fall on Saturday/Sunday. Otherwise, you should always use your MBB2 VISA/MC when it involves foreign currency. i tried agoda/maybank and link thru hotelcombined.com... hotelcombined.com is cheaper, even after the 6% maybank rebate...albeit by a few ringgit only...for my situation (real situation, i just booked) i think it's advisable for all to try both way before booking and see which is cheaper p/s: so i used hotelcombined link to agoda instead..but instead of using ocbc for 1%, i still used mbb visa for 0.5% p.p.s : damm...instead of ocbc, i shud use amex for 2.5%!!! QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 21 2013, 04:55 PM) Did you choose to be billed in MYR ? Don't do that. Always choose to be billed in USD when booking through Agoda. Refer to my post in the foreign exchange thread. this?QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 30 2013, 12:09 AM) I just booked a room through Agoda just now. All this while i kept asking everyone to choose USD as the billing currency but this time i wanted to try to be billed in MYR with the exchange rate determined by Agoda system. But it was a BIG mistake! noted. seldom venture into that part of the forum...will take note from now on!I did check the rate both in USD and MYR. The rate shown in USD is **USD123.43/night while in MYR, it is **RM376. The Agoda USD/MYR exchange rate is **USD1=RM3.0463 which is a very good rate considering the money changer in Mid-Valley (MV Forex) is selling USD1=RM3.045 as of yesterday. I have a credit card that gives me 7% off and i also redeemed 25000 Agoda Rewards Points (equivalent to USD50). Anyway, the hotel tax rate is 7%. 3x nights = USD370.29. So USD370.29 + USD25.9203 (7% tax) = USD396.2103. But after factoring in the 25000 points i redeemed (worth USD50) and the 7% discount on base room rate from my credit card, the final payable amount in USD is USD320.29 only! As i viewed the hotel room from the first page to the final confirmation page in MYR only, i was automatically billed in MYR and the amount billed to my card is RM1004.25. This means Agoda's USD/MYR is USD1=RM3.1354!!! This is actually very very high! I have no idea how come the final exchange rate suddenly became so high because the initial exchange rate shown is actually very good (**refer to 2nd paragraph). Anyway, the bottom line is, whenever you are booking a room through Agoda, always choose to view the room rate in USD and make sure you choose USD as the billing currency at the final checkout page. btw..i just checked the email agoda given...in usd charge as 162.40 but in rm charged rm503.63, which means my exchange rate was 3.101169950738916 This post has been edited by cempedaklife: Feb 21 2013, 06:07 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Feb 28 2013, 10:22 AM) My rate is 200TP = RM1 actually it's almost the same..10,000 TP = RM50 = GST Unless you have something to spend in some shops (Parkson, Metro, Guardian, etc.) which exchange lower TP <10,000 for RM50, otherwise just redeem for GST. Don't worry too much on this, just let it be. When it comes, it will come. Better to concentrate on getting more rebates / % You still can try call in CS and request for it. Some still allow. considering u use 10000TP to redeem rm50 gst if u use 9300TP to redeem rm50 parkson voucher, which itself accept amex, u lose 7.5% (5x TP and 5% weekends) of the rm50 = rm3.75 = 750 TP so in total its 10,050 TP trollol i always redeem GST This post has been edited by cempedaklife: Mar 1 2013, 10:53 AM |

QUOTE(shirley_andy @ Apr 3 2013, 10:27 PM) guys, to pay credit card via atm, just go to any atm and put in my credit card then bank in the money right? i can do IBG to transfer from m2u to pay ocbc credit card straightsomehow my savings account and credit card account not link(not under same login username) in maybank2u so can't use savings account to transfer funds to pay.. Called maybank but phone rang for so long no one pick up... I believe you can do the same too, just not as straight forwards as paying linked credit card through m2u.. it's not pretty, but it will save ur time (and not expose u to danger while transferring in ATM) for the time being, while u work on getting them linked. |
