Gr-Eight Game.. Eight Goals

Torres really help to set the pace of the game. The early goal set the mood for the whole match. Rafa selection of 1st 11 is good for this fixture, and his sub also understandable..Terry unavailable open a new possibility for one of highly rated young defender..Ake..already a few bench appearance...

The first half was good in term of the ball possession because Lampard control the game in the middle of the park with Luiz constantly driving the ball up and down the pitch..yap..he was everything..from a defender to a striker..during the defensive stand..Chelsea can form a 3 CB defend..with Luiz..Iva and Cahill..and when we on the attacking mode..Luiz will follow the ball and that give us extra man for every level of the pitch..

The second half was even better after Lampard trademark goal..Long range !! and The Shed End once again want the management to extend his contract..to be fair..yes..he deserves a new contract...all the subs..Ramires..Oscar and Piazon all step up the pace of the game..Ramires with his running..Oscar holding the ball in the final third and Piazon want to impress the blues faithful..

keeping a clean sheet always good ~ nod.gif

I agree lor.

I am the Liverpool fans and the reason I am catching up with Chelsea game is because i want to see how Rafa torture other people. Of course, not only the Villa team by 8-0, but also torturing those blue fans that don't like him, hahahahahahaha...

it is really torturing. The manager that you don't like, or even hate, bring you 1-5 against Leeds, bring you 8-0 against Villa.

Senyap? There's still a chanting every 16 mins during the game calling for Di Matteo name. Fans dont forget.

Rafa out sentiment wasnt about the result, doesnt matter win or lost.

seriously, i cannot brain liverpool fans. Torres & Rafa is now Chelsea player and employee, why they keep bothering about them? bunch of nothing better to say aside from history. is Rafa a good manager? probably yes. Can he bring instant glory to Chelsea? No, we lost to Coronthians remember? speaking of that he lose to Sao Paolo with Pool as well. Do Chelsea fans admire him? Big NO. But he can earn back the respect by giving back the respect to the fans. Not just by winning games. winning titles.

Of the last 18 Premier League games to see a team score 6+ goals, Chelsea are responsible for eight of them. Rampant.

Park the bus they said.

See, thats why I mentioned the sentiment its not about the results.
Its the history of him calling Chelsea fans plastic, and even saying don't want to manage Chelsea club. Thats the reason fans calling his name.

So what's chelsea fans will look like if they blindly supporting rafa after his statement?

However one player who is heading for the exit door is Sturridge and Benitez has confirmed yesterday's rumours that the striker is in Liverpool finalising a move.

"The information I had was that he was there, passing the medical, but we don't have any more information," Benitez added. "Maybe he will come back to say hello, or goodbye. We will see. He's a good player. He has all the talent."

One more confirmed news will be Falcao > Chelsea. icon_rolleyes.gif

If liverpool fans stop defending rafa for us here, i think it'll be better.

Liverpool fans defending Rafa make him seem like a Liverpool agent instead.

Personally I accept Rafa as our manager, but have to understand not everyone can forgive his past comments.

i'm laatee but i still want to celebrate yaallll!

first of all, loved the cleansheet. our work off the ball has increased tremendously and as a resut cech was only seriously troubled once from weimann's angled shot. top class save though petr still needs to work a bit on his clearances. most of the time they were too strong but its a minor complaint. the lamps and luiz combo looked a bit unsure in the beginning as our play looked disjointed in the first half, yet we still managed 3 goals. the torres header was perfectly timed to ignite our confidence, and the moment luiz replicated drogba's technique to smash in that freekick, villa were done. we moved up a couple of gears in the second half and just blew them away.

pick of the bunch was the luiz freekick, lampsy's volley, the torres header and hazard's dribble and shot. i liked how rafa quenched any fears of favouritism by pulling off nando and lampard, for the good of the team. certainly didn't see that coming, especially with his supposed blue-eyed boy torres. it sends an important message to the squad, whereby if u perform you'll have a shot and nobody's bigger than the team. special mention goes to piazon for a bittersweet league debut, contributing a kaka-like assist but a not so kaka-like penalty. unlucky, but he definitely has the talent, as exhibited by that sweet spin move which won the spot kick. ramires will surely brag about his brace, and sometimes i wonder why he doesn't make more late runs like that. its as if we haven't been utilising his strengths properly, and those two runs reminded us of how lethal rami can be.

13 goals in our last two games on the back of a painful loss to corinthians, can only mean rafa's motivational skills aren't too shabby aye? still a long way to go, but the bridge crowd sure sounded ecstatic and hopefully that positive energy flows through our next game as well.

unlikely to happen..

but still a better option than go and raid falcao..he can be our solution while we keep lukaku at WBA..and monitoring serious target for next season..

I dont mind Villa coming on loan..if possible avoid the permanent deal..

List of chelsea target..

Sun? they could even linked us with messi.. sweat.gif, they said we kick out lampard shakehead.gif

QUOTE
Falcao - evens

The Atletico Madrid striker has been linked with the Bluessince the summer, prompting us to instal them as the 5/2 favourites to secure his services. However, a surge of interest has seen the price cut to evens, with Sturridge's departure seemingly indicating the Blues are poised to make their move. The Columbian is considered one of the hottest properties around and is likely to command a transfer fee of upwards of £35million. Manchester City (7/1) and PSG (10/1) are also considered in the betting ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Atletico unlikely to want to sell to their domestic rivals.

Theo Walcott - 5/4

Walcott's elongated contract saga has prompted speculation over a January move, with the upcoming window being the final opportunity for Arsenal to gain some financial returns on the England international. Recent interest has seen Chelsea backed in to favourites to secure his services, while Liverpool (11/4) and Manchester United (3/1) are also considered high up in the betting.

Demba Ba - 9/1

It is starting to become more of a case of where Ba will go than whether he will leave Newcastle in January. The Magpies have failed to remove the £7.5m release clause from their top scorer's contact, leaving him open to offer. Arsenal actually head the betting following a recent flurry of bets while Liverpool are also considered more likely to secure the striker's services at 6/1, although that looks unlikely now with Sturridge on his way.

Fernando Llorente - 12/1

The Athletic Bilbao striker's services are up for grabs on a free with his contract set to expire but the battle to secure his signature might well take place in January. The majority of the money has actually gone on Liverpool to sign Llorente, who was the highest scoring Spaniard in La Ligalast season, while Arsenal and Tottenham are also considered to be interested. Juventus drifted out from odds-on on to the current price of 8/1 after the 27-year-old denied a deal was already in place, while declaring his interest in a Premier League move in the same interview.

Neymar - 10/1

The young Brazilian striker remains keen to continue his development at Santos despite interest from some of Europe's top sides. Barcelona are the 6/1 favourites to land him in January followed by Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid (all 10/1), with that line-up defined by the financial firepower necessary to prize him away from Santos.

David Villa - 12/1

The Barcelona striker's future has attracted speculation as he struggles to rediscover top form following a leg break which ruled him out of the majority of last season. Swansea have actually been best backed to make a surprise move for the Spanish international, with a loan deal muted. Arsenal (5/1) have also been heavily linked while the Blues are fifth favourites to do a deal.

All prices subject to change. Visit Sky Bet for the latest odds.

Falcao - evens - yes/no for me..as long as the price not out of this world then yes..
Theo Walcott - 5/4 - yes..i dont know why I think he will be a success at chelsea..second coming of Anelka maybe..
Demba Ba - 9/1 - yes..yes..
Fernando Llorente - 12/1 - nope..he not versatile enough..
Neymar - 10/1 - yes x100
David Villa - 12/1 - yes for on loan deal..

yes..because Villa can drift wide and play as LW so it will not create any pressure for Torres...if we really sgn him on loan then Oscar really need to drop to CM..

i think carrow road is a very difficult place to be. and to come out with maximum point is good. if not mistaken, man utd and arsenal fail to get anything here..

last night, oscar did not do well when he started on the left. but when he shifted to the center, he did well. moses for me is awesome since he kept tormenting norwich's right back. unlucky for him not to get a goal.

torres is christmas mode. doesn't seem interested at all. when hazard and lamps in, then only he look like he want to play.

im so relief with the win, norwich looks very threatening on the second half especially hoolahan.

we really need to get a decent striker for january transfer, as torres doesnt come any better. he looks clueless as usual.

norwich..pressing and closing down..was scary..hahaha..i always excited when luiz got the ball..somehow..i see him a midfielder..just stop blasting long range shot..keep it simple..play tru pass..and loop ball..oscar as winger...just nightmare..and torres..cant say much..he really dont have a good service last night..

i think oscar need to build up his physique, when the opponent got physical he always lose out, not that he is fast anyway, so why not build up a bit like rami when he joined us few seasons back.

yesterdays game, the lads still in holiday mode not in a hurry to move the ball around like AV game.

i think that is why rafa integrate Piazon and Ake..just hope that we can bring a few reserves player..Piazon and Ake are from the youth i think..

Chalobah, Kane and Conor Clifford will return this January..so If we still on nego to buy new players..this guys can fill up the bench hehehehe

Marin will definitely more involve after this.. nod.gif

Enough with Marin! He seems kind of .... off..... Prefer Piazon!

BTW Benitez did go when he switch Oscar n Moses position... Torres was waiting.. the defenders closing him well... Not his fault...

Norwich was playing quite a physical game compared to AV...

Piazon and Ake was put in because no other players only.

If we were winning 3/4-0, then Marin would had come in. Marin defending is very lousy, Neither RDM nor Rafa trusts him. I think he once argue with his Bremen manager because he dont want to run back and defend. Rafa comes across as strict "defensive" manager, that's why Marin rarely play now.

there were other players..rafa preparing for ANC..Piazon for Moses..Ake for Mikel..cuz when Ake come in..he was deploy at DM/CM..

Marin runs and dribble are more important than his defending ability..a winger not really need to defend.. nod.gif

there were other players..rafa preparing for ANC..Piazon for Moses..Ake for Mikel..cuz when Ake come in..he was deploy at DM/CM..

Marin runs and dribble are more important than his defending ability..a winger not really need to defend.. nod.gif

i believed that the whole team must help in defend. even most managers require their players to track down & defend. Mostly mourinho will bench a player.

yes..and why we still playing torres..he really sucks at defending..cuz he cant even hold the ball..but to be fair that his style of play..even persie not holding the ball for long..backtrack is vital no doubt about it..hazard..mata and oscar can backtrack well..probably..hazard is the best among them..but there always free players that roam the pitch without any responsibility to defend..for us now..torres..ronaldo for madrid..atletico all their striker not regular in defending..persie for united..that all a fast paced player..that what i see marin can bring to the team..pace and dribble.. nod.gif

dunno y some of you guys blames torres for.
Yesterday game Norwich play very well in defending.
they keep a very close eye on Torres.

Some of my opinion.

Luiz have been awesome with his deadly pass. he also did well control at the back there.
especially the passing to cole and mata just that the final part is lacking.

Mikel still made some bad passing mistake.

on January we are going to miss lots of physical play.
Moses been playing lots of good energy play there. very essential there.
Missing mikel will make a huge hole on the DM areas. though Luiz fits in there very well.
but we need backup there. good to see Rafa willing to play our youth.

what we need on January.
Striker, DM and CB. hmm.gif

BTW Benitez did go when he switch Oscar n Moses position... Torres was waiting.. the defenders closing him well... Not his fault...

Norwich was playing quite a physical game compared to AV...

how bout loan back Marin to BREMEN n take back De Bruyne....hehe

Marin still need to work hard to fit the BPL physical game smile.gif his that type of winger that good in crossing ball n running without marker

MARIN is not playing because he is behind the order of MATA, HAZARD, OSCAR, MOSES, MARIN maybe even PIAZON ahead of him. The last outing he have, i think he was out shine by overlapping mate AZPI in attack and PIAZON last game again VILLA seem to be a lot positive. His pace and dribble are kinda limit by his physical. He is fast, but not extremely fast, so there is no way he can rightly outrun a BPL defender, as a simply pull he will lose his balance and speed. That is why MOSES are the preferable choice, a direct dribbler running at the defender with the body strength to bring the ball forward. You dont see MATA being a good counter attacker, because once he saw a defender infront he will stop and look for pass or dribble side way because he know he cant out muscle him and this slowdown the counter attack, For RAFA direct pass counter attack tactic, MOSES and HAZARD are the more suitable player.

But MARIN could be more useful against parking the bus team for his trickery dribbling to maneuver in tight space. At the moment i see MARIN as a lesser MATA and i prefer not to see MATA-OSCAR-MARIN combo, as it seem like too 1 dimensional and mostly will result to us camping outside the box dribbling the ball while forcing opponent to park the bus and we unable to break thru. HAZARD or MOSES direct penetration give us an edge which i think at least 1 should be in the team.

haha~~ seems many chelsea fans will pointed at Torres when he couldnt score in a game... rclxub.gif

ST position we need at least 2 new-comer (1with experience & 1young) , if got extra money sure buy a new DM (i wish fellaini come)
when Mikel gone on January, Luiz + Lampard/Ramires will fit this 2 DM place , I thinnk Terry will return soon maybe mid of January...so Terry + Ivanovic + Cahill just good to rotate rclxms.gif

now we just concentrate on grabbing each game's full 3 points...others ppl result~~~ keep aside..haha....... KTBFFH!!!!

the expectation on him is just too high.
I dun expect him to score every games. laugh.gif

the current amount of total goals RVP is just 16goals
if you compare to Torres with 14goals.
even Aguero have only 8goals.

With STUR leaving, i believe a striker definitely will be coming but i prefer MEGA buy else a CHEAP buy. MEGA buy means someone that rightly put TORRES to the bench, else whoever come will just warming on the bench sulk at TORRES preferential treatment. So is either FALCAO for the MEGA or DEMBA BA for the CHEAP buy.

DM, with LUIZ able to play there i think we are fine, dont need a buy on JAN window with limited choice and inflated price. I also think DM is a good position to nurture youth player, as long the player have good work rate, the DM position will affect the team performance less.

CB definitely no need for a buy, we have 4 first eleven quality CB so promoting a youth will be good enough.

I still dont like those pass pass pass among cech and defender, because most of the time cech ll kick the ball back to opposition.

I think he dun have good vision.
What so amazing about luiz is he is able to spot a player is loosing the defender marking.
for example passing to cole nearly created a goal and he also spotted mata running out of marking.
2 of the chances were not able to finish if not it would be a awesome play by luiz.
he easily dominate the whole DM areas.

Luiz was MOM yesterday sum it up all.

These abilities is what we missing off during RDM. and I'm shouting about getting a DM to do these jobs during chelsea slump.

Something I dun like about mikel passing. sometimes he just use too much strength which result harder on first touch.
it not just once I saw it a few times.
were lucky norwich were not able to make use of its.

pairing luiz and makalele would made the finest pivot. laugh.gif

oh.. speaking of luiz as DM, i think the best combo would be him and lampard. they work so well together. using this combo, we got the super passing ability of lampard and the industrious run and work by luiz.

but, since the club is not likely to offer him another contract, i think the nearest we can get is oscar + luiz at DM. but fear this will be too attacking minded DM and they might get caught out of position if they are so eager with attacking duties..

not only that, i am also worried about defending set pieces, we have less tall and strong header. Our fullback are OK even they have slight height disadvantage but as a defender they are used to challenge opponent for header but our short AM not really.

rafa banish the mazacar..either one of them will be at the bench in the starting lineup...hahahaha

yap..the depth so thin before this with only Torres and Sturridge and now..Studge expected to leave to red merseyside..we will add one more..either recall lukaku..another option for Rafa..or we might sign a striker..young or experience still a big question here..

most of the pundits think that way..if the gap about 6-9 points by the end of january..we will challenging.. as for now..i prefer focus on the team first..

the problem with lampard based on my logic is he's old and mega earner. don't think Chelsea board want to release someone who represent the name of Chelsea for long time coz that will tarnish the name a bit. in terms of marketing, dont think its a popular move. that being said, they cant afford to keep paying him big bucks each week. So, i guess the best is to both party sit down and lampard should accept 1 year extension with salary reduction rather that plying his trade somewhere else. He's more legend than Drogba, would be surreal looking him wearing other jersey

Trustable or not? Looking at the number of tweets, i'm guessing is a new account, but is it DD's? However that is DD's username on instagram though.

Everton away. Everton only lost twice this season. Under normal circumstances, a draw would be a good result, however, if we want to have any hope of catching the Manchester clubs, we cannot drop points now.

as for now..I just want us to keep the winning momentum..win ugly.. beautiful..not very important now...the team must keep winning to prepare them for second half the season..we usually better and always improving than in the november-december flu..hahaha

against everton..never easy against merseyside..red or blue just almost the same now..our key is that mr. afro suspended..if we can dominate the midfielder with the presence of Mr Luiz..we mingh won the game comfortably..bar any surprise from their striker..

didn't start the game. 2nd half West Brom were playing better and having more possession, Lukaku, Fortune and Morisson came on in the 2nd half but RvP goal killed off the game.

from what i've read,

the new rule is 10 yellow cards = 2 match ban. compare to now, 5 yellow cards = 1 match ban.

i don't think the accumulated cards is reset.

no. the rule still accumulative 5 yellow cards = 1 match ban.
example like Shawcross & Suarez this season.

Reset after new year is something I never heard before.

How about those that's been banned for 5 yellow cards, do the counter still stay the same as in they get another 5 yellow cards and reach 10 after new year then it means another suspension?

win.. that is all that matters. what makes it better? a comeback win! that is the mentality if we are to mount a serious title challenge.

torres should at least got 2 goals. 1st half he got no service from the midfield. but no question in second half.. he really should minimize his suxx first touches..

Not a convincing performance for the team, especially for the first half. The whole team was just lost when opponent pressing the team.

Luckily it fixed for the second half. But the right side obliviously empty, Ramires should move forward to the right, not run back to the middle, Moses can do the job, but he don't get the chance. Once again Torres first touch is a big problem, it was awful. Somemore he lost to Distin for every long ball, he got no strength against Distin.

agreed with the torres comment. he haven't got the sticker instinct anymore. everytime want a tap-in goal. even in one of the his attempt that is called offside cant properly direct the kick to make the gk work.

Then you'll need some decent team's top scorer, the one they depend on all the time. United did this by taking Arsenal's RVP. Perhaps someone in the mold of Liverpool's Suarez.

this is my point! ok is not enough if we are to challenge for the title. out of all the title that we won, was it due to an OK striker?

goals out of something is like a moment of magic.. that was waaaay above my expectation. my expectation for torres? make the 'keeper work real hard. or torment the opposition defense. to lesser team and most importantly to the big boys. was my expectation too much? ask yourself and see how strikers from other top team perform and compare that to torres.

as i said, won't defend this guy anymore. how many season already? was he bigger than the club?

didnt manage to catch the game ..but for me 3 points in the bag again.

as we're trailing city with 1 game in hand..it's an extremely important to win vs qpr (as we can close the gap to possibly 1 point)

but pls la dont treat like them like last time. last time i heard ppll suggested rotate this rotate that vs qpr coz qpr had a very bad start (..til now hahah)

pls dont take them lightly

last night lampard showed real class and maturity. not because of the goals but because of how he has adapted to the new position. last time with ramires there, he tend to move forward and then caught out of position but that wasnt the case already. and luiz is indeed his best partner there. so, i am voting for both of them to start against qpr in midweek!

2nd, is how azpilicueta played. this guy impressed me the most. with the slow start to PL, i think this guy is bench warmer to ivanovic. but he proved me wrong. win tackles everywhere, and intercept so many passes. did his job well in attacking and awesomely while defending. he really look like ashley cole during his peak! really wish we can get another him to cover the left side as well!

oh, difference between luiz and ramires playing there? one is playing with brain, the other with maybe half a brain.

Bayer Leverkusen are showing interest in Chelsea winger Marko Marin.
The Germany player is keen to go out on loan after a disappointing debut season at Stamford Bridge which has been dogged by injury.
The 23-year-old former Werder Bremen star has held talks with interim manager Rafa Benitez.

I dont see AZPI is better than A.COLE yet, dont even need to compare at his peak. I would say A.COLE peak most probably during CA time where he link up with MALOUDA bombarding the left flank was awesome. His defending is still world class, is very difficult for opponent to dribble past him at the left and his numerous clear the ball off the goal line was game saviour.

Half brain ? that was harsh, they are different type of player. RAMIRES energy is what we used to have in ESSIEN and MAKELELE, the one that keep running and pressing for the whole 90min. Well he might not as good as past DM in defending but he offer penetration run and goal.

biggrin.gif, as usual ramires tend to go out of position, the only think he good at is his dribble that open up attacking option, but he's final pass sometime is very poor.

and

I agree, we shouldn't kid ourselves that we don't need them anymore or that they're just a liability. Any club in the world would want these 2 in the team. These two are game winners, and have been for years. Hope chelsea makes the right move here.

cannot deny Lampard contribution for the 2 goals.
however looking at the starting game formation, he suppose to be playing in the middle supporting the attack, I noticed that he always drop to deep collecting the balls after attacks break.

and we still slow in counter attacks.

1. Keep Lampard..Terry..and Cole..you already let Drogs go so never repeat the same mistake twice..

2. Fans must understand that Lampard and Terry no longer can perform on every game..but they always game changer..

3. Chelsea are changing guard now..Mata and Luiz start to take responsibility..

4. Eventually we will let the old guard go..but not next season..not now..

5. As soon as we sure that Mata and Luiz can lead the team..then we let the old guard go..or preferably retire..especially Terry..

Demba Ba might just be the key to our title. As we have a striker in Torres who barely puts up challenges against defenders. Header or pace, he loses both.

If we play with single striker and if we don't sell anyone else, I don't think we need another player.

Maybe if Marin leaves on loan, we may need someone to cover his position in case of injury to the usual attacking players.

GK? Yesterday seeing glimpse of Turnbull messing up simple positioning when Everton attacking. He doesn't look too ready.

Also, when is Josh McEachran coming back. He could be a direct replacement for Lamps when he retire in a few more seasons

Quite weird for Chelsea to sign Demba Ba considering AFCON is around the corner but judging from his current form and cheap release clause, it does make sense.

However, I was expecting a much quicker striker like Falcao rather than a cooler striker Ba. wink.gif

Anyway, looks like I just have one more point which is an aggressive striker and a cooler striker. Ba is just like Anelka.... cool.gif

Ba, 27, has a £7.5 million clause in the deal he signed when he moved to the north east from West Ham in 2011 which means he could be sold in January if a club meets the fee. And, according to the Daily Mail, the Blues were ready to offer a £2 million loyalty payment in order to seal his move to Stamford Bridge.

However, it is now understood that club officials met Ba’s representatives on Sunday night but that the personal terms on the table did not come close to what he expects to earn for leaving St James’s Park.

He certainly has the ability, but his game still has to improve a lot. When counter attacking, he makes good runs between defenders. But he still expects cutting through balls when there's defenders within a foot of him either side who can just as easily intercept the ball. Just one of the few areas he can improve on, and definitely will improve on as he gets more minutes on the pitch.

Barcelona have rejected a deal from Liverpool for the Spanish superstar, with the club reportedly asking for more than £16m ($A25m). The Daily Mail is reporting that the 31-year-old is unhappy with his lack of game time after successfully recovering from a broken leg. Arsenal seem the frontrunners to secure his services, however Manchester United and Chelsea, among others, have also expressed serious interest.

Personal terms could still take some time, as we saw with Gary Cahill about this time last year. It does look like Ba is the most likely target to replace Daniel Sturridge now though, and hopefully a deal will get done as soon as possible. It would also appear that Ba will not be eligible for the Newcastle FA Cup tie this weekend, meaning he'd not be cup tied in either of the domestic cup competitions should he join Chelsea.

There is still plenty to be done before Ba signs, but assuming the club and player can come to terms, there is little reason to believe Demba Ba won't be joining at some point this month.

STURRIDGE DEPARTS FOR LIVERPOOL

QUOTE
STURRIDGE DEPARTS FOR LIVERPOOL

Posted on: Wed 02 Jan 2013
Daniel Sturridge has today signed for Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.

The striker leaves Chelsea after three and a half years at the club, during which he started 49 games with 47 appearances as a substitute. He scored 24 goals.

He joined from Manchester City in the summer of 2009 as a 19-year-old, the initial fee £3.5m. It was in the FA Cup he made his mark in his first season, scoring four times in three games in a campaign that ended with Chelsea lifting the trophy.

His first Premier League goal for the club was in April 2010 in a 7-0 win over Stoke. In that Double-winning season under Carlo Ancelotti, Sturridge earned a league winners' medal having appeared 13 times in the competition. He ended his first season at Chelsea with five goals from 20 matches in all competitions.

The first half of the 2010/11 campaign yielded another four goals in 21 games. But with Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou in the squad, and Fernando Torres joining in the January, it was decided to loan Sturridge out to Bolton for half a season.

Back in the north-west he scored consistently at Premier League level, ending his stay with eight goals in 12 appearances, the one blemish a last-day red card that would see him suspended for the first three league games of the 2011/12 season.

New Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas tested Sturridge during pre-season on the right flank from where the left-footer could cut in and shoot, or arrive at the back post for left-sided crosses. As soon as his ban was over he was straight into the team in that position and scored with a deft back-heel at Sunderland, before adding two more at Bolton.

Having become an England Under-21 international soon after joining Chelsea, Sturridge now made the breakthrough into the senior England squad.

He had 12 goals for his club by the end of March 2012, including another FA Cup strike with an important equaliser against Birmingham City at the Bridge.

However, when Roberto Di Matteo took over team selection soon after and altered the formation, the Italian often preferred Ramires who offered more defensive qualities wide on the right. Sturridge was used sparingly as the season drew to a close. He was named as a substitute in both the FA Cup Final and Champions League Final.

The 23-year-old played for Team GB in the Olympics having overcome a bout of meningitis.

Sturridge came off the bench to score in this season's 4-2 win away at Tottenham Hotspur in October and then netted a crucial goal in the Capital One Cup win against Manchester United, his first 90 minutes of the campaign. That was his last strike for Chelsea and his last game was in the final match of Di Matteo's time in charge - away at West Bromwich Albion. This season he started twice with 10 sub appearances and two goals.

Chelsea Football Club thanks Daniel for his part in the very successful seasons we enjoyed during his time with us. And we wish him all the best for the future.

Good Luck Studge ~ thank you for everything ! Liverpool No 15 ! Chelsea No 23 !

great news on us finally making a serious move for demba ba. been calling for his signature for sometime now, and he'll finally give us a different dimension to our game. if he gets a good run of matches and maintains his current form, i think torres will need to get used to the bench. ba's a quality player, capable of dispatching those half chances against top teams. he may have a mysterious knee problem that the insurance companies are terrified of, but apparently he's never missed a game either for west ham or the magpies because of it. i think that indicates it isn't as serious as the papers are making it out to be, so hopefully he stays fit. 7m pounds is a definite snip, a rare bargain in the january window. if RVP was on the treatment table, trust me utd would be challenging us for his signature.

studge was never going to sign a new deal with us, hence his departure was only a matter of time. what a shame we couldn't hold on to him, but all the best to the lad at liverpool. he's up against some massive competition in the form of suarez, although their gaffer might have plans to strike up a partnership. not looking forward to the day he endeavours to prove a point against us, but that's just football eh.

let's keep up our festive season momentum, and continue to rack up the three points. slightly fortuitous to get past everton, but hey a comeback's a comeback! tongue.gif a lot less comfortable than the win against norwich that's for sure, but to be the first team to inflict a home defeat vs moyes' side warrants some measure of credit. QPR are nowhere near as good as everton, but a london derby always has some extra spice to it. let's show them no mercy and secure a win, so our previous victories don't go to waste. oscar in for hazard, the belgian has been looking really off colour lately.

90% or more surely Demba Ba is Chelsea bound !
i think Lampard will leave, there is really no point for him to stay at Chelsea anymore ain't it?
he still can play regular footy else where instead of being a super sub or random starter
not that i am for sure, but i feel a regular fan can tell when his time is up

anyway thanks to Chelsea, my opponent in fantasy cup has his demba ba voided thumbup.gif
but the idea of Ba in Chelsea is indeed scary
D.Ba is cup tied with newcastle he can't play for Chelsea in EuropaCup right?

QPR play more like a team rather than bunch of individuals like before. Redknapp did great job ousted those who didn't want to fight for the cause. No more bunch of mercenaries. Also, he made them work their socks off. It's not easy to play solely on the break. Everybody need to run extra miles. This win is no fluke. Chelsea might have to go back to drawing board.

i put the blame on rafa for this lost. rotation policy not working, slow start of the game, no urgency in first half.

resting mata and hazard with no plan. then panic bring on ramires immediately after swp goal.

oh demba ba.

hahahaha i stated a few times already..tinkering simply sucks..

rest the player when they tired..not really need to rotate every time..

maybe the lads still not sober enough to play..

plus everyone try to be hero..Iva..and Luiz..they never really try to play the ball into the box..

not good enough...

focus on the next game..we must be 6-9 points gap before our 30th gameweek then we can challenging for the bpl...

as for now..keep improving lads..and please play like a team..stop trying to be a hero..just because you done that before this..

Rotate but still tired.
Defending wise, I dont think tired is the case since QPR dont attack much.
Attacking wise, marin didnt play last game, oscar play less than 10 mins in last game, moses was sub out in last game.

Seems like QPR now has become our bogey team! From last season's defeat at Loftus Road, and the 2 games this season...I like Harry Redknapp, but I do hope they get relegated this time around!

sad to say, we wont solve our problems by buying Ba or Falcao or even Fellaini. the problems with chelsea run deeper than buying or bringing in new players.
one thing u can't buy is team spirit and we don't have that at the moment and with this managerial merry go round, we might not have that for a while too. team spirit is what wins games and is what drives players to exceed their limits. we have a lot of new players who must find motivation somewhere, we are failling build an identity amid the constant changes sad.gif

the problem with chelsea for me is the midfielder..yes last night..Lampard and Luiz partner in the middle..but both of them on the attacking mode..we dont have any anchorman last night and we definitely dont have a deep lying playmaker...there are no players that dictate the game..

second problem last night was the fact that they no longer trying new option..why keep on attacking through the middle..try cross or cut inside from the side..there are also lack of overlap..

third..everyone want to be a hero..not playing as a unit..
