However one player who is heading for the exit door is Sturridge and Benitez has confirmed yesterday's rumours that the striker is in Liverpool finalising a move.

"The information I had was that he was there, passing the medical, but we don't have any more information," Benitez added. "Maybe he will come back to say hello, or goodbye. We will see. He's a good player. He has all the talent."

One more confirmed news will be Falcao > Chelsea. icon_rolleyes.gif

Quite weird for Chelsea to sign Demba Ba considering AFCON is around the corner but judging from his current form and cheap release clause, it does make sense.

However, I was expecting a much quicker striker like Falcao rather than a cooler striker Ba. wink.gif

Dude it has been discussed that senegal did not qualify for ACN

My bad. I was just plain lazy to check it from the net whether Senegal qualified or not. Thanks for the correction. blush.gif

Anyway, looks like I just have one more point which is an aggressive striker and a cooler striker. Ba is just like Anelka.... cool.gif

Ba, 27, has a £7.5 million clause in the deal he signed when he moved to the north east from West Ham in 2011 which means he could be sold in January if a club meets the fee. And, according to the Daily Mail, the Blues were ready to offer a £2 million loyalty payment in order to seal his move to Stamford Bridge.

However, it is now understood that club officials met Ba’s representatives on Sunday night but that the personal terms on the table did not come close to what he expects to earn for leaving St James’s Park.

A furious North-East car cleaner has taken to Twitter to urge Demba Ba to pay his £40 bill – after the striker apparently ducked out after moving to Chelsea.

Ba, who sealed a £7million move to the Blues last week, left many in Newcastle frustrated after he pushed through the transfer, but one Geordie has more reason to be furious that the rest.

Lee Donnelly – part of a company called LJD Valet – alleges that he cleaned Ba’s car before he headed to London to sign for Chelsea, and has never seen the money since.

Donnelly says Ba owes him £40, and took advantage of an #askba Twitter chat the striker was doing to try and request the funds.

‘#askba are u ever gonna pay me the £40 for valeting ur car? take it as a no as u moved away,’ he tweeted.

He then tried to appeal to Ba’s better nature, insisting that the £40 is nothing compared to the reported £90,000-a-week he is picking up at Stamford Bridge.

‘#AskBa the money u owe me is 0.0001% of ur daily wage sort it out ba’

The story can’t be officially verified, but at £40 for a car wash, Metro Sport can’t help but think that is hardly a ba-gain.

The owner of Metalist and the president of Shakhtar discussed the possibility of Taison `s transfer and came nowhere

On January 10 there was a meeting of the owner of FC "Metalist" Sergii Kurchenko and the president of FC "Shakhtar" Rinat Akhmetov, during which they discussed the possibility of a transfer of 24-year old striker of Kharkiv club Barsellos Freda Taison to Donetsk club.

Rinat Akhmetov expressed a desire to buy this player for "Shakhtar", while Sergii Kurchenko emphasized the commitment to keep Taison in his team. As a result of long and intensive negotiations, the parties have not reached an agreement.

As previously reported, the contract with Taison, signed two years ago, provides a point of player `s purchase if the club will be paid an amount of $ 20 million, regardless of the wishes of FC" Metalist ". However, to date, the president of FC "Shakhtar" offered a somewhat smaller amount for the transfer.

"Today we did not come to anything. But given the conditions of the contract and the desire of Mr. Akhmetov to see this player in Shakhtar` s uniform, I do not exclude that in the near future "Metalist" will receive 20 millionth offer , and we will have to say goodbye to this great striker. If that happens, I'm ready to make the amount received from the transfer bigger, raising it to $ 30 million, and for this money to buy two or three players who will be not worse than Taison in class and will make the team stronger, "- said after the meeting Sergii Kurchenko.

Anyway,

QUOTE
By all accounts, this could be a transfer that is close to fruition with Celta Vigo set to lose their key player to Chelsea who are rebuilding under Spanish interim boss Rafa Benitez.

Aspas, a 25-year-old forward, who has scored 8 goals this season in 18 appearances, has a 10 million euro release clause in his contract which Chelsea are set to pay.

According to Marca, the salary offered to Aspas would be irresistible and the player is keen for a move to Stamford Bridge.
His brother and agent has met with Celta Vigo to push through a move but the Spanish side are keen to hold on to Iago Aspas until the end of the season.

Earlier this week, Swansea were believed to be keen on Aspas but it would be a major surprise, despite their Capital One Cup semi-final first leg win in midweek, if the Welsh side can stop the striker heading to Chelsea.

Having spent his whole career at Celta Vigo, 2011/2012 was Iago Aspas’ breakout campaign as he notched 23 goals in Spain’s second division.
