Just booked 2 return tickets to Melbourne using Enrich Miles but suddenly has to replace one of the passenger with a third person. Is this change possible? How to do it? Please help, thank you.
*
Under normal conditions where the ticket is purchased via non-award means then the change is likely to be possible. (depending on the ticket class + often with a change fee and others fees) To note that MAS define "update" as changing 3 (max) characters in the person name designated as the traveller. Changing a name is totally a different thing altogether and carries the full impact of additional fees.

To note under award, the following rule applies.

"18. Once a Travel Award is issued it is considered used if not utilised for the flight reserved. Enrich Miles cannot be re-deposited nor can taxes, fees and surcharges paid be refunded."

Sorry mate but bad news. Everything is totally gone if you wish to change it to another person. Worst still, you have to deduct more points from your coffers and pay for the taxes again. Anyone using the Enrich award should be aware of the impact if the person decides not to fly after redeeming the award.

I wonder if the 50% for Europe is going to happen or not. Looks like my Enrich points can boil soup.

Thought I'll mention it here

Been planning a family trip for 2A, 1C and 1 infant to europe during raya break.
Since I didn't have enough enrich points to do full redemption for 2A 1C. I purchased 1A 1C for upgrade and 1A redemption. Note: infant ticket has to be purchased outright. Good thing it only costs 10% of business ticket.

The cost to upgrade increased slightly actually, it costs RM600 per person for the return upgrade. The CS mentioned it's based on the difference between economy taxes and the full redemption taxes.

Wished I could wait for 50% discount on redemption or upgrade, but since I'm going during peak period, I didn't want to take my chances. The upgrade is no longer available for london on my selected dates and for Amsterdam, only 2 seats available for upgrade.

The most important conclusion is, my total cost for the flight is slightly less than booking entire family on economy flight, but entire family is going on business flight rclxm9.gif
Thank you very much, various credit card companies thumbup.gif

Yah, get to fly Business Class for less then Economy ticket smile.gif

In my article A Little Bit Of This and A Little Bit Of That Vol.1, Chapter V - I shared that I was told by a MAS representative that if one is intending to visit Paris and London, it'll be cheaper if one was to fly from KL to London and then take the return flight back to KL from Paris. Reason being, the airport tax imposed at London Heathrow is very high. And I was told one has to pay RM600 when upgrading to Business Class for flight London to KLIA.

In the same article mentioned above, I shared that I had to pay USD45 and USD29.80 to upgrade my son's and sister tickets from Paris to KL (they bought JFK-CDG-KL). And guess what? I also bought my daughter return Economy ticket KL/Paris and managed to upgrade her return flight Paris to KL to Business Class without paying a sen!!! And in my article I have an image that summarized how much I paid for surcharges and taxes for the "FREE" Business Class KL to Paris and London to KL.

Now, few months ago my uncle did manage to upgrade her daughter's London to KL flight to Business Class (her ticket Economy return KL/London) for FREE (i.e. no additional surcharge or taxes)!!!

So Bro, you mentioned RM600 per person for the return. Is it from London?

Sometimes MAS only deduct 35k EM (No TAX) for 1 way ticket
Sometimes 35k EM + RM300 CDG-KUL (NOV 2014)
Sometimes 35k EM + RM475 CDG-KUL (DEC 2014)

not sure how they calculate the tax

The taxes are dependent on what's charged at both airports. Taxes change, and exchange rate changes but I'm not sure why it's wildly different.

Have never seen an award flight that wasn't charged tax unless it was an upgrade from a paid ticket, you already paid the taxes on your paid ticket.

According to the CS the tax is calculated based on tax for business class - tax for the economy ticket you paid for
So the case when there is no tax could be because you bought an expensive economy ticket?

Thank you! Just book ticket for my wife and a child return KUL to MEL July and return MEL to KUL Sep and cost less than RM1.5K/pax. Cheaper than Air Asia for the same dates!!! Usually my wife comes back when their is school break in Australia (peak period) and I pay about RM1.5K/pax with AA. So MAS deal really fantastic.

MAS deals has been great recently and we know why. My wife and 2 children already bought with MAS KUL to MEL this month and returning in March, and another KUL to MEL in April and returning to KL in June where I paid about RM1.3K/pax only.

This is my exact fear as I accumulated near to 500k points and keeping it for Enrich Miles conversion for 2 business class ticket to London/Paris.

Will Maybank put up a notice to inform the public before they decide to inflate the conversion? hmm.gif

I've followed SQ Krisflyer and MH Enrich for awhile, Asia Miles only recently.

Enrich used to have excellent promos but I've seen only bits and pieces here and there recently. Worth it if you're aiming for the places they aim for eg. Australia most recently.

AM has some promotions but I've only seen it on Dragonair, never on Cathay Pacific. I don't fly Dragonair, only Cathay so I've never really used it before.

KF also has some promotions but again the last few I saw were on Silk Air. They still have their standard 15% off online bookings so you can do KUL-JFK on Singapore Suites for ~95k miles one way though.

Which is one is worth it? If you're aiming for promos none, it depends on where you want to go and when the promos start. Too bad Maybank transfer take several days to complete...

Agree with the above statement, it depends on your preferences of airlines & destinations, as what's the use of good promotions that one doesn't like it or doesn't benefits from?

Aim for the best available FFP base on your targeted destination with preferred airline in mind helps clear all the unnecessary doubts and confusion. wink.gif

During the last big devaluation (200 -> 250 for RM1) in end July 2013 there was no official announcements though the forum managed to extrapolate the fact from other sources (1U RCubed announcements) and unofficial insider confirmations. In fact during that time Maybank sent out mailers and a M2U announcement on TP expiry (unlimited -> 3 years) but neglected to mention the devaluation
