This is Enrich thread.

The discount only applies to the lowest category of redemption. No discount in the redemption beyond the "base fare" category.

If you check actual pricing, you get a similar pattern. Return flights from elsewhere to KUL is cheaper than starting from KUL. And transiting through KUL to a 3rd destination can be cheaper then to KUL.

You will find a similar pattern with SQ.

The dynamic pricing system, and the incentive to attract transit traffic through KUL can result in such distortions.

In general, the whole enrich system is pretty buggy, and moving from sector based redemption pricing to revenue based pricing has been disastrous for getting reasonable redemptions.

Redemption tickets are always restricted, and varies in availability. There is no way to know except to try book and see what's available.

The worth of a mile depends on the class you redeem, for zone based system. Enrich is nominally based on a revenue ticket price system, but it is still not really based on pricing. Eg, if you look at KUL-BKK flights, a RM500+ ticket can be redeemed with 7,100 miles, but in the next price bracket just RM100 more, the miles jump to 15,800.

Then if you look at Melbourne, it's a crazy 97,000 miles for Y. Might as well use SQ with a standard 31,000 miles Y) or 68,000 (J) via SIN.

I have stopped using Enrich for long haul redemption.

Don't ask me how they calculate. I don't understand either.

It's almost impossible to find any Savers tickets for Australia.

I was looking at March next year, none for my dates. On the other hand, looking at SQ over that same period, almost all flight have Savers Y.

I realised why now. I was looking at a connection flight through KUL. If I search starting from KUL, the savers fares then appears!

The enrich program basically died after they move from sector redemption to revenue ticket value redemption, until introduction of the savers category.

Otherwise the points needed is so crazy, I have given up and totally converted to KF.

the one i checks, it's a crazy 98,000 miles for ECONOMY class ONE WAY....

back to "revenue value" redemption. Based on the actual revenue ticket price, which is lately very high because of current demand more than supply.

You actually tried to get in with one world status flying a non one world airline?

Some one world member airlines don't even allow one world status to enter, eg some Qatar lounges at Doha.

It doesn't appear as an option when you try redemption anymore.

In fact, cannot do redemption booking at all, as the payment just cannot go through.

Extremely buggy system, both the website and the App.

how to be "world class" airline like this?

andddddd.....if you call the CS, despite already nominated family members as nominees for redemption tickets, they want you to submit again information about 3rd party receiving such redemption bookings....

Aaanndddd...if you go to the physical sales outlet like at Nusentral, the redemption rate and cash payable is about double that of online...

Looks like they are actively trying to kill their own enrich program.

All explained here, although can be quite confusing.

Basically, no access to the top QR Al Mourjan Business Lounge.

aannndd....I had no choice to call the Call Centre as the redemption Enrich miles are increasing for my target flight....had to scan and submit ICs and authorisation letter, then make booking through the Call Centre...and then had a shock of my life, when the "taxes" is 3 times that of online booking.

Made a complaint email to Enrich. And they just referred me back to the "International Call Centre team".

Basically typical gomen dept pass the buck around.

How to be world class?

In any case, the redemption system is broken like hell, the heading says x miles, but no such options when you search the actual flights. Cannot pay. The points needed is crazy in some sectors, multiple times that needed for Krisflyer....
