They can start by sorting out the online redemption payment fiasco. Can't even pay for the redemption with the only payment they accept for redemption bookings, CC.

Meanwhile their catering is still rubbish, domestic J class getting economy food and service, while charging full business fares.

Anyone tried to book redemption? Still unable to complete transaction as it only accepts CC payment and the system keeps on saying "no valid mode of payment".

No point having savers but they just don't allow you to complete the transaction. If you call, have to pay extra RM50 "call centre surcharge".

P/s not my credit card as it has no problem accepting that same CC if booked as revenue booking. Error the with all cards I tried.

update: they finally sorted this out, and i managed to redeemed and paid for a flight.

The payment finally went through. It was a full redemption, but nevertheless, there are "taxes" (actually most not taxes, but additional surcharges imposed by the airline) that need payment, ONLY by CC. For the last 2 months, it was impossible to complete the transaction because the booking site (both web as well as App) just cannot complete the transaction.

Tried Saturday, failed. Tried again last night, it went through.

Note there was never any problem with payment if booking a full revenue ticket.

The 'savers' scheme it to attempt to salvage their enrich program, which was useless when they changed from the sector method to revenue equivalent method. The normal redemption now is crazy because fares are very high since the COVID reopening. The points needed is linked to the actual revenue fare

So the fixed points by region savers is to make it more palatable.

The savers to Australia is now 29,600 points.

The whole Enrich programme is still very buggy, from the App, to the Website, to redemption for nominee, and currently no Savers at all!

Despite naming and registering my nominee, both the App and website does NOT show up my nominee as a booking option. After manually keying the name, there is no possibility to change the Enrich number, it defaulted to mine. Then an error message pops up something about "an invaild Enrich number is entered" Duh.....

And after finishing the redemption, the total current points displayed in the website still shows the points before the booking!!(Although the App shows the correct points).

I wonder who did the design and coding of the system and App....

This is not an uncommon practice, called "repositioning" travel. It's a well known airline practice to price a journey cheaper from another location transiting through their hub, than from their hub itself.

And back tracking as well. Eg, current Australia -malaysia travel is cheaper using CX via HKG than direct.

Depends on where you are and what's the repositioning flights cost. Those in Johor, public transport to Singapore probably not much different to getting to klia.

Those in KV, there are many flights KUL SIN KUL, sometimes very cheap.

Yes, mine also shows 50 elite points extra. That is because I had extra from last year, and they have brought forward to this year!

No, all the extra will carry over, up to a maximum of 50% of that status. Platinum is 100 elite points, so maximum 50 can carry over. I had 161 last year, extra 61 but the maximum of 50 was carried over for me.

On the contrary, I find the domestic golden lounge rather crowded lately. It's too easy to earn elite points nowadays with the frequent double points promotions.

Strangely, my 50 carried forward points have disappeared.

And there is something new, which I find very confusing.
