Oneworld airlines include the likes of Qatar and Finnair, both of which flies to northern Europe, Finnair from BKK or SIN. Google up on how to look for Oneworld award flights using the Avios website, pick the routes segment by segment eg. KUL-DOH then DOH-OSL and then call up MH Enrich to see if they can book your tickets for you.

Having said this, I think redeeming Enrich on OneWorld airlines is not the best value unless you're booking business class tickets, or have millions of expiring Enrich points or both. Standard economy class tickets to scandinavian airports start at RM2k (during Qatar's last sale which ended Sept 18th) or around RM2.2k on Turkish. Typical fees are around RM700-800 for an award ticket so you'll spend 72k miles to save RM1,200.

I won't convert into Enrich Miles if I were you. Check out the discussion on the Frequent Flyer thread.

I thought to Auckland the redemption miles is all the time 75000 miles one sector? so 150k is common and you are not wasted.

location wise and ease of travel mas still the prefer one.

1. if choose krysflyer, I heard fellow forumers said always need to be on waiting list and therefore this is an issue to consider.

2. if choose asiamiles, location and time consume and waiting list is big issue as everytime we need to fly to hong kong.

3. therefore the only option left for me is to try redeem enrich miles on oneworld partner airlines?

perhaps someone that have more experience can enlighten us? rclxub.gif

yes with krisflyer and asia miles you will have the wait list issue, unless your intended destination is served by MH else you will still have this issue if you want to fly other carrier. The likes of CX, QR and SQ has argueably better business class seat anyway.

Even with Asia Miles you transit at HKG, if MH doesnt fly direct to your intended destination you will still end up transiting somewhere. If you are flying business this is not an issue as you may spend your time in the lounge.

I will say find your options and work from there

Concur with bearbear, MAS only fly to London for Europe side, so you will still need to transit no matter what. If destination like Australia or London, then yes MAS is better if convenience is important to you

Enrich costs too much to redeem IMO. I would stick to Asiamiles. Many low cost airlines flying to HKG you can nick a cheap fare there and fly off HKG.

Then again it all depends on your travel pattern, how many miles you fly per year, where you normally go. But face value mile to mile theres more value in AM than Enrich.

You said your intended destinations were Oslo/Helsinki and intended date of travel July/August next year.

I've plugged 25 July and return 8 August and there are 2 business class seats available. You fly Qatar A340/A320. If you depart SIN I suspect better availability and aircrafts.

Only redemption I would do for MH would be their A380 J KUL-LHR.

thanks for the sharing

I think I have got my answer, my conclusion is to get to Finland Helsinki

1. first option is via oneworld Finnair KL SIN HEL and have to go to mas centre, assuming I can use enrich mile to redeem on Finnair. this is the fastest route to get there.

2. second option is using mas KL LHR HEL, this one is more straightforward and can do it online but have longer journey and have to pay extra cost to cover LHR HEL fare.

tq for your info. but I have check asiamiles, it seems all flights have to be via hong kong  bangwall.gif

I have also call mas to enquire about going to northern Europe like oslo and helsinski under oneworld, they say no routing to there at all. I think if really want to go northern Europe I had to transit London cause the only route mas have?

Allow me to offer my two cents in getting bang of buck for your miles. Credit into AsiaMiles and take advantage of AsiaMile's One World Multi Carrier Award programme.

https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/redeem/charts Scroll to bottomest.

KUL-HKG-HEL-HKG-KUL is a total distance of 12869miles which falls into Award Zone 08 in the AMOWMC Chart. You can fly KUL-HKG-HEL-HKG-KUL for only 115000 AsiaMiles per pax in J. AMOWMC also allows maximum of five stopovers, two transfers and two open-jaws at either origin, en-route or turnaround point. You can mix match your itinerary. KUL-HKG-HEL // OSL-LHR-KUL (if you want a direct flight back).

Rather than spending 120000 miles on a single sector why not take opportunity of this.

*sorry i bash enrich in an enrich thread cry.gif

Convert your points to Asia Miles and you can redeem it online yourself without having to endure MH's call centre.

Just checked ex SIN, there are seats available too, Finnair A350.

You're good to go!

Due to my business expenses I can accumulate quite a lot of miles every months. :)therefore ease of travel is my main consideration and I don't mind there's slightly different for the mileage use to redeem ticket. Via HKG is not my choice definitely cause I'm gonna spend additional four hours flying. it's kind of tiring. thanks for your info though.

all 3 daily flights from sin - doh by qatar are operated with a350. I would say worth the trouble to get down to sin to fly off.

Got it!

Anyways KUL-SIN-HEL-SIN-KUL is 11890nm, and costs only 115000 AsiaMiles to redeem via their OW Multicarrier Awards programme.

thanks so much. Finnair is my choice, cause I just come to know Finnair is both asia miles and one world partner. flying from sin is easier and is nonstop flight icon_rolleyes.gif
