QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 30 2013, 11:32 AM) don't know about "pulse & glide"...mind to tell ? When you need to accelerate, push the pedal hard enough, up to half power mode is ok, but best is within the economic range (green bar). Once you reach your desire speed, release the pedal and press again and maintain with minimum acceleration. I just press whenever I like....like driving normal car only but still the fc is better than my vios la of cos... Minimum acceleration means if you are below 70km/h, run with battery. if you are above 70km/h, keep the pedal to maintain constant speed. Then you will see the FC climb up along the way. Tested already, slow acceleration like press the pedal very light (just above the electricity cut off line) all the way to desired speed, end up is slow + burn more fuel. It is not how hard the pedal you push, it is more on how long you let the petrol engine burn during acceleration. Do you notice that you can get high eco score easily during acceleration? |

Okay... other than the fuel, may I know how much PSI do you guys usually pump into your tyres? The front ones. I noticed mine are supposedly 35 to 36 when i received my car.

Finally, sent the pc to the sc for diagnostic. 1st went to the petrol pump to fill up the tank until you can see the petrol. The foreman monitored the indicator bar and it went up to full bar. How dissapointing. Then check with the diagnostic tools and no fault at all. How dissapointing again. Maybe the car was afraid of the sc. Drove back and change the pc with wifey still feeling dissapointed but relief. Maybe I didn't pump up to the max (just to make myself feeling relief).
Then i received a phone call from my wife. The bar drop by 1 bar. Luckily I've set the trip meter to zero. The pc gave us 19km and took 1 bar away. Maybe i did not fill up petrol full enough. Ask my wife to take a picture and I call up the sc to tell them and hope to get a reply very soon |

QUOTE(foongchinboon @ Jan 28 2013, 06:54 PM) may i know our PC got how many level of gear? 3 or 4? The gear ratio is fixed, means only 1 gear. You can find the explanation here: http://eahart.com/prius/psd/.at gear box there only have "D" and "B" how to use at "B" position? it will lock at which level of gear? "B" = engine brake, equivalent to low gear engine traction while going downhill by disengaging the regenerative brake. This post has been edited by deeplydeluded: Jan 30 2013, 11:12 PM |

Anything higher then that I find it hard when go through bumps and holes...but some ppl put higher for FC. |

Sorry when we shift to 'B', no battery charge? I tot it has more battery charge thus i always use it while rolling down the hill."B" = engine brake, equivalent to low gear engine traction while going downhill by disengaging the regenerative brake. |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 30 2013, 07:35 PM) Mex highway is not flat, thus that method can't get high FC. For Mex highway, i managed to get 27km/l during night with aircond. The trick is constant low pedal, slightly above the battery cut off line (need to use Eco Score mode on the screen). Bad thing is during climbing up the hill, sometimes i can get the speed up to 30km/h only. During flat, i can get about 60km/h-80km/h. The journey took 15mins extra compared to 80-100km/h drive. I didn't use Mex often, thus i take it as a training of patience. Can you tahan that kind of speed? |

I manage to get around 27km/l also by the same way u drive. Maybe going downhill u drive faster ( maintain around 30km/l). I feel like going to KL way can only get <27km/l.For Mex highway, i managed to get 27km/l during night with aircond. QUOTE(aragongon @ Jan 31 2013, 11:06 AM) If I am going down the hill, I want to slow down the car and get the battery charged? which gear is the best? 'N', maximum charge. During 'N', fuel will not kick in at all, even when you stopped your car. So when the traction battery left 1 unit, alarm will be sounded in your car to remind you to shift your gear to P or D to charge your traction battery. |

That is why some parts of the world is illegal to do neutral coasting. |

i found out using B gear will charge the battery during downhill. managed to get full bar battery once by using B gear going downhill from puncak titiwangsa to jeli. brake usage is minimal.

yeap..it's win win situation.. can charge the battery during downhill and minimize the brake usage..Good

QUOTE(foongchinboon @ Jan 31 2013, 09:36 PM) thanks a lot...after read still not really understand and what is the different with conventional gear box... Cause HSD is totally a new technology. For layman, gear box is fully control by electric motor (HSD) for maximum efficiency. Conventional gear box is direct power from engine, thus lot of efficiency loss when changing gear and engine power not fully utilise. |
