QUOTE(engah @ Dec 24 2012, 10:08 PM) 34km/l is AWESOME. The average speed for that trip is 83km/h.However, it took you extra 1.5 hours to reach there. Here comes the tradeoff: "The petrol saved during the journey" vs "the extra time spent on the journey", which one is more valuable? Added on December 25, 2012, 12:04 am QUOTE(wankf @ Dec 23 2012, 10:43 PM) Bro, what is your FC? Previously I tried around 100km/h, no matter how also can't reach more than 24km/l.Added on December 25, 2012, 12:14 am QUOTE(foongchinboon @ Dec 22 2012, 12:44 AM) My White PC Congrats! Keep on!Just got it last Sunday [attachmentid=3219990] And this is my record so far [attachmentid=3220010] I also realised that FC is more relevant to the average speed, like the trip above, it is 47km/h. I realised that to keep average speed less than 60km/h, can get more than 27km/l easily. Guys, please share if you have done more than 27km/l with average speed more than 90km/h. To calculate it, just divide the mileage by the time (in hour). This post has been edited by aragongon: Dec 25 2012, 12:14 AM |

QUOTE(LiteSpeed @ Dec 26 2012, 06:54 PM) hi all , just got my orange prius c today , just a quick question .. anyt suitable steering lock for prius c ? the stoplock steering lock i used previously did not fit in to the steering wheel .. thanks I tried already with steering lock. Hardly apply on it simply because the steering is not round. For better security/money, install a brake lock. |

12V battery is used to start the engine in conventional car. It is used once per trip normally. In PC, the engine is started multiple time with EV on and off. So my questions are:
1. In PC, 12V battery tear and wear more than those conventional car? 2. How often 12V battery need to be changed? 3. If PC 144V battery full or half, but 12V battery is drained, can we still start the car? or can run it in EV mode only? Added on December 31, 2012, 1:21 am QUOTE(mike1986 @ Dec 30 2012, 06:59 PM) Toyota Prius C Singapore price list, hmmm... guaranteed COE? Like what it means OTR here? Cheapest PC in Singapore is SGD 138,988 (= RM347,470). http://www.toyotasingapore.com.sg/cars/new...us_c/price.aspx For comparison, latest Mercedes E200 in Malaysia sold at the price of RM363,060 (extra RM15,950 only); 86 in Singapore sold at the price SGD 185,988 (extra SGD47,000 only). Are the Singaporean PC owner crazy or what? This post has been edited by aragongon: Dec 31 2012, 01:21 AM |

QUOTE(gacktleong @ Dec 31 2012, 07:36 PM) Hmmmm, after few days of testing my driving behavior, these r my results Thanks for sharing and congrats for the FC! BRAVO! Behavior 2: 1. Drive as I dont have to brake. 2. Let the car roll when going down slope. 3. Always allow battery power to assist when going up a slope. (require some training on the right feet 4. Drive slow (EV mode kicks in automatically) in the city or housing area. 5. Drive fast (5-10km/h below speed limits). 6. Forecast the traffic ahead 7. Do not drive like a turtle on the road. Time is money. Trip 1 - Selayang to Glenmarie Trip 2 - Glenmarie to Mont Kiara (forgot to take pica) Trip 3 - Mont Kiara to Glenmarie Trip 4 - Glenmarie to Selayang All trips consist of stop, slow traffic, jam, going up n down slopes, highway. Results: 1. Not bad 2. I enjoy my ride, as I drive fast during highway 3. Alot of tar collected on my white PC. Any good tar removal to recommend? Im using Kit's, doesnt really help The Average Speed are Trip 1 - 46.53km/h Trip 3 - 28.62km/h Trip 4 - 40.17km/h From my study, good FC could be achieved by average speed less than 50km/h. Above 50km/h, very hard to reach more than 25km/l. However, the driving habit, the right foot technique is important as well. Ppl usually talked about right foot for drifting, drag race etc. We talked about right foot for smooth acceleration and good FC. What the hell Maybe we should call ourselves "Initial PC" |

QUOTE(mike1986 @ Jan 2 2013, 08:06 AM) Hmm... not quite accurate to judge by speed since there're stops and traffic congestion as well. I haven't gone for my 1st service and noticed that the battery gone flat quite easily, especially during heavy traffic and car just warmed up. I hope this could be improved after the 1st service. I had done my second service, approaching 3rd service (10k km). Unfortunately, I didn't notice any improvement on the battery performance after services. Prius C battery capacity is only 0.9kwh (Reference Link). Thus it is quick to charge up and discharge. As comparison, Nissan Leaf has the battery capacity of 24 kwh and it is capable to travel 200km within one charge. Prius have battery of 1.3kwh. Therefore I am not surprise we can't go far with the battery. Added on January 2, 2013, 8:07 am Plug & Play? hmm... where did you buy this? Camera excluded? as in like what kind of case it would include camera? |

QUOTE(mike1986 @ Jan 2 2013, 12:35 PM) Same here. I only experienced once with battery fully charged, when going downhill from Genting. In fact, it is very rare to see battery flat or fully charged during normal driving. |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 29 2013, 06:17 PM) not sure...cuz i everyday cyber-kl, kl-cyber, average speed 120km/h, RM50 can last for 600km, is that normal? I also not sure cuz i never care much The FC for you both is around 22km/l, which is standard FC (= US official figure 53mpg). With hypermiling, FC can rise to 24-28km/l, means your RM 50 can last around 630km - 735km. Someone here can do 30km/l and above, solute them! |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 29 2013, 11:30 PM) i am not doing those kind of thing with driving a super slow speed on the road, i can felt asleep and bang the divider. First of all, hypermiling is not driving slow. All time in battery will not get good figure also, heard about "pulse and glide"? I drove up to 90km/h while achieving 27km/l.my average is 23km/l, not 22 as what you mentioned...always seen from the screen vbefore i pump petrol You mentioned RM50 can last for 600km, it is 22.8km/l then. Not hard to calculate that. |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 30 2013, 11:32 AM) don't know about "pulse & glide"...mind to tell ? When you need to accelerate, push the pedal hard enough, up to half power mode is ok, but best is within the economic range (green bar). Once you reach your desire speed, release the pedal and press again and maintain with minimum acceleration. I just press whenever I like....like driving normal car only but still the fc is better than my vios la of cos... Minimum acceleration means if you are below 70km/h, run with battery. if you are above 70km/h, keep the pedal to maintain constant speed. Then you will see the FC climb up along the way. Tested already, slow acceleration like press the pedal very light (just above the electricity cut off line) all the way to desired speed, end up is slow + burn more fuel. It is not how hard the pedal you push, it is more on how long you let the petrol engine burn during acceleration. Do you notice that you can get high eco score easily during acceleration? |

QUOTE(deeplydeluded @ Jan 30 2013, 11:10 PM) The gear ratio is fixed, means only 1 gear. You can find the explanation here: http://eahart.com/prius/psd/. Sorry when we shift to 'B', no battery charge? I tot it has more battery charge thus i always use it while rolling down the hill."B" = engine brake, equivalent to low gear engine traction while going downhill by disengaging the regenerative brake. |

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jan 30 2013, 07:35 PM) Mex highway is not flat, thus that method can't get high FC. For Mex highway, i managed to get 27km/l during night with aircond. The trick is constant low pedal, slightly above the battery cut off line (need to use Eco Score mode on the screen). Bad thing is during climbing up the hill, sometimes i can get the speed up to 30km/h only. During flat, i can get about 60km/h-80km/h. The journey took 15mins extra compared to 80-100km/h drive. I didn't use Mex often, thus i take it as a training of patience. Can you tahan that kind of speed? |
