I made my decision based on this list on linustechtips, seems to be the highest tier (tier B) at this price point (RM245). I may be wrong though.

hi all, im looking to replace my old power supply soon. my current setup is as follows:

Case: Silverstone SG13
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC
GPU: HD 5770
PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power RP-550-PCAR 550W ATX
RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR4 3200mhz Patriot Viper Gaming
Boot Drive: OCZ Vertex 2 2.5" 60GB SATA II OCZSSD2-2VTX60G
Storage Drive: Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB 5400RPM (WD20EARS)

as im using a pretty small itx case, would it be possible to get something in the sfx form factor fully modular? looking to spend rm300-400. the lower the better.

eventually will swap out the old gpu with an rx 580 8gb if i can come across a good deal for one.

hi guys, came across this very useful thread and i need advice on what PSU to get for my ITX (my casing will support ATX PSU, so not limited to small PSU)

AMD Ryzen 3600 / 3300X (most likely with stock fan)
GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI
5600XT
2 x 8 GB RAM
512GB M.2 PCIE 2280
3-4 RGB fans

i wont be doing OC-ing.

With the above specs, can you recommend me a PSU that falls under these 2 bucket and whether 650w is too much?

Below RM400
- A friend recommended FSP HYDRO GD 650w but i cant find much review on this

Below RM500
- Online review seems to recommend Corsair RM650w

p/s: as i am not a techy guy, im buying my hardware from lowyat (czone). so, i defeinitely dont have access to all the PSU available in online store, etc. czone PSU choice: http://www.compu-zone.com/index.php/price-...ownloads-in-pdf

Go for a SFX unit like Corsair's SF450 instead as a SFX unit will often come with cable lengths optimized for ITX builds, and the smaller size will mean more room for airflow/cable management icon_idea.gif

Yes, it is a very reliable unit (one of the best PSU OEMs around, FYI) icon_idea.gif

Leadex II uses mostly Japanese caps (with some Taiwanese Teapos), whereas Leadex III uses full Japanese caps on most parts of the PSU (with the exception of the modular board, which uses Teapo polymer caps) icon_idea.gif

Note though both PSUs are very high quality units and should not pose a problem to your build icon_idea.gif

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/super-fl...ii-650-w/7.html

Also the +5VSB efficiency is better on the Leadex III, but it's not really worth it to get the Leadex III over the Leadex II IMHO icon_idea.gif

Looking at a new build nw. I have a msi b450m coming in soon. Looking to build a 3700X rig with that. Was scouring the net (Lazada and shopee) on PSU.

There was 2 PSU that caught my attention. One was the 1stplayer Steampunk 650w and the other was the xpg core reactor 650w.

Anyone has any experience with these units/brands?

Ahh thanks for the input. Yeah read that the XPG is pretty good. After I went through this thread, the gigabyte P650B also might be worth considering.

Any other PSU would you recommend I do more research on?

FSP for around the same price point. Unless you wanna spend more. Seasonic Focus GX, Corsair RMx, Super Flower Leadex III Gold are great.
