And to answer to above question, sorry to say you won't be granted with the loan.
Information as found from here. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 7 2008, 12:40 AM

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...3831&sec=nationQUOTE PSD gets nod to put defaulters on credit-rating blacklist After trying just about everything to recover payments for study loans and still not making any headway, the Public Service Department has come up with a last-gasp measure - to put defaulters on the credit-rating blacklist to bar them from getting any more loans. why i never heard of this? QUOTE PSD decided to revoke the 75% discount given to 1,200 hardcore defaulters and blacklist them as well as their spouses and children (if any) so that they would not enjoy a similar loan facility in future. Only if this is applicable to PTPTN too... This post has been edited by HMMaster: Apr 12 2008, 08:54 AM

You could always request a PIN number Check this out http://epay.ptptn.gov.my/loan/ptptnlogin.jspAll it need is your IC number, and you can view your outstanding balance as well. QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Apr 18 2008, 09:42 AM) To login for statement checking, use your IC and PIN number on the statement mailed to you. To pay the PTPTN, need nombor Surat tawaran PS : Pay what you borrow. eg, you borrow RM 20,000, just pay RM 20,000 without 'kadar riba' but this guy said need. so need or not? i already obtained my PIN number via SMS, and checked my total amount. Now all i need to do is just bring my money and IC to department to pay lah? they will check it for me right? and which department was it? This post has been edited by rpg: Apr 18 2008, 06:09 PM

If you need the money then of course PTPTN is the best loan available. Bank loans have very high interest.

QUOTE(The Phantom @ Apr 25 2008, 08:22 PM) hw much is the difference btw bank loan interest and ptptn? PTPTN loan only charge u interest after u graduate. I think bank loan charges u as soon as u loan the money. u can google for PTPTN website about the interest calculation all those. If you dont have any sponsor/scholarship, i think PTPTN is ur best choice already. This post has been edited by phantasm0110: Apr 25 2008, 08:25 PM

QUOTE(biologyking @ Apr 26 2008, 10:28 AM) Can we apply PTPTN loan for degree courses using foundation result? I am so confused if i recall correctly, PTPTN loan does not care about ur pre-degree results. as long as u have enrolled into an accredited course (by LAN/MQA) in any university or college in malaysia, u are eligible to apply. criteria usually include family background like total income vs tanggungan, as well as if any of ur family has a bad credit/debt record or have/has been declared bankrupt etc. other than that, they dont look for ur results.

Really? If I finish foundation at IPTS, I could apply PTPTN loan for my degree since I cant borrow that loan for foundation course? If it is true,
