I think in order to get full loan, your parents' total income shouldn't exceed RM 2k, once it exceeded that amount, you'll get a 75% loan.

QUOTE(kockroach @ Mar 28 2007, 06:20 PM) Yes, RM 16K per year if get the full loan. QUOTE(Lover @ Mar 28 2007, 10:58 PM) I think PTPTN will give RM 16K (full loan) for each student regardless any degree course in MMU because it's the duration of the course that counts in.If the degree course is 3 years, then the loan will get is RM 48K, if 4 years degree course is RM 64K. Not depend on the tuition fees, at least for MMU's case. |

QUOTE(Teong @ Apr 2 2007, 11:09 PM) PTPTN provides loans for both degree and diploma. If you are an SPM school leaver, they will only cover your diploma. PTPTN does not cover foundation, a-levels, etc...as these are considered certificate level courses. They do however, provide loans for degrees. Few years back, the senior got around RM 12K for only their Foundation studies. typo, just realised after a day This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 4 2007, 02:58 AM |

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Apr 6 2007, 06:28 PM) If I gotten a scholarship in other college; my previous college's PTPTN will be terminated? Yes, you need to declare this matter to them. It's because if they found out, you will be sued with legal law. Do I have to pay at once? And yes, you need to pay them back one shot. |

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Apr 6 2007, 08:47 PM) Nope, one shot. No installment...Last time I had problems with my PTPTN and I needed to pay them back one shot but then the case resolved already. Thank God. I did talk to them to nego but they said can't. For e.g.: My friends in MMU were taking PTPTN loan but later were offered with Yayasan Telekom Malaysia (YTM) loan. And, they were asked to pay back the amount loaned to them by PTPTN, luckily YTM helped them to pay back to PTPTN. Maybe the scholarship can help in this matter too? I'm not so sure. Nevertheless, as far as I'm concern, they required us to pay back one shot. |

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Apr 6 2007, 09:50 PM) If I do not want to stop the PTPTN for my new college, do I have to reapply? Sorry, but mind to explain more? I don't really get it.But will I need to pay back the original amount they gave me first? Sorry for these never ending questions >.< Nevermind, we are here to help each other. I'm also speaking based on my experience. |

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Apr 6 2007, 11:12 PM) Like I'm switching from TARC to IACT, Yes, you are right. You need to settle the debt first, unfortunately.Previously I applied for PTPTN for TARC and they already gave half of the amount I've loaned. So I need to settle the loan in TARC before I can apply for PTPTN for my studies in IACT? There's a PTPTN centre in KL Sentral right? There was this incident when I was doing my course registration in MMU's Exam Unit. This student came and asked for offer letter and etc. He told the Exam Unit that PTPTN already sent him a lawyer letter because he changed his college to university and he is asked to pay back the loaned money for his studies in his former college. Ya, from the information I got from here PTPTN, there is a PTPTN center in KL Sentral. QUOTE(priest @ Apr 6 2007, 11:38 PM) That's the troublesome part of PTPTN because without LAN approval, you will be rejected with a loan. This post has been edited by fruitie: Apr 7 2007, 04:37 AM |

The problem is the ptptn already send me 3rd letter ask me to pay back for foundation. As i want to change to other uni, would they provide a new loan for my degree. Or should i pay back my foundation loan first to apply for degree loan? Please help me. Feel like jumping from the window because of this money problem. I wish i was stupid enough so that i failed my form 3 but i didnt. I wish i was lucky/smart enough to get seat in ipta. Being in the middle of this two really making me crazy. |

QUOTE(stevanistelrooy @ Apr 22 2007, 03:04 AM) Well, just pay off the 5k and you are clear of the debt and having extra RM12.50 being charged incremently as you delay the payment. Steve, I think he needs to settle the loan he loaned in MMU before he continues to another university. No point of having a lawyer letter arriving on your doorstep like a loanshark asking for you to payoff the amount. As fruitie said, you can ask for deferment, provided you get into the new uni, and use that offer letter as a proof and submit it to PTPTN. If they can't really help you, I think you have no choice but to settle it. Best if you could go and nego with them at PTPTN office. |

QUOTE(ayrez @ Apr 22 2007, 04:11 PM) anyone please ans my ques... Unfortunately the answer is cannot. can i add on 1 more?if i manage to get a scholarship offered from the college...but mayb only 35%...can i still apply for PTPTN Loan for the rest?will they approve it?thx You can only be holding either one scholarship or loan. You will be sued by both parties with legal law, both the scholarship's organization and PTPTN. This statement is stated in the agreement clearly. |

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Jun 9 2007, 11:00 AM) means if i get a scholarship after loaning from PTPTN how? if the scholarship if from a foundation would i get sued? Yes, you must quickly give back the loan to PTPTN and pay back the sum of money you loaned.QUOTE(eehtsitna @ Jun 12 2007, 11:47 AM) No i dont think u will get sued. In that scenario PTPTN will just take back the loan that they offer to you. It is not your fault to be given a scholarship in the first place. I know it's not your fault, if at the first place you already got the scholarship and just keep quiet, then you will get a lawyer letter from them if they found out. If you return back the loan fast, nothing will happen. p/s: sorry for replying late, just noticed about these posts. |

QUOTE(ccy1989 @ Jun 19 2007, 05:29 PM) I am a tarc student.....i will be taking my diploma at here... then later i plan to continue my degree at Utar....is there any problem with it ? I think shouldn't be a problem as UTAR is in PTPTN's list. But well, for assurance purpose, it is best you call up the PTPTN hotline to enquire about this matter. |
