Thanks a lot kuntakinte. This is my first android after using iPhones for the past few years. The things that i can do with it is overwhelming, compared to iOS, definitely there are pros and cons.

Shipment must have arrived from the USA. biggrin.gif

Anyway, it's not too long and far from the official launch date.

thumbs up for Doomsday and Kuntakinte for the feedbacks we hoped to have more plus perks you guys enjoy and not much downsides to the phones. next trivial, has anyone broke their V card? (root) tongue.gif

another trivial, has any owners got annoyed by the 3 touch keys at the bottom when using apps?(accidentally touched one of them while playing games. etc). do we actually have to live with it and get ourself familiar with the phone and in good time won't develop the habbit of touching them while working on the phone? also, is there any apps(rooted, non-rooted) that hides those 3 touch buttons and users can bring them back up when in need?

I'm not into custom roms so don't think I'll be rooting it and the only reason I rooted the S3 was to remove the Samsung bloatwares. I am absolutely ok with stock android with nova launcher.
While I mostly love it's features, there are some which could have used more thought.

Like needing to swipe down to access too few power toggles and to access settings. Solved it by adding the power toggles widget app.

Having to long press power button to toggle vibrate/ silent. Solve this by silent vibrate widget on the home screen.

I am not an avid gamer so not qualified to comment much but do notice that the soft keys make way for a full screen viewing of video

Edit: also, gesture based inputs are lacking, also got nova launcher to solve this. On second thoughts, not really a con that stock android lacks these as customization is at the heart of android anyway.

It depend. Even I'm using my sister's Note2 also having same problem of accidentally touch the physical back button when using apps/games. The one con for virtual button is it take up some screen spacing. but it looks cool when you dont have button on your phone because is fully touch screen. biggrin.gif

I have been using on screen buttons since the 1st gen of Nook Color e-book reader. So far the on screen button works fine with me.

For my preference, I liked it over the physical buttons because they tend to wear out sometime after few million times of presses. I have been using my Galaxy Nexus almost a year and it does a great job as well on N4. I found the embossed curved screen on N4 provides better swiping across the screen compared to Galaxy Nexus (which has a border on the sides).

There are plenty of hacks to hide the virtual button. One of them is LMT launcher which uses thumb gestures to navigate the home, back, recent app (virtual buttons). It's cool at 1st, but not practical to use in my opinion.

Overall, the power and volume buttons are much more harder to press compared to the 2nd and 3rd gen of Nexus series.

More findings will be reported.... wink.gif

It's same in my opinion.. I still using back to back with my Gnex and N4.

No sluggish nor irresponsive as reported. Will reported again to stress test on both devices
