Well, is so cool to have Nexus 4, but question here, is it really necessarily to root the phone anyway?
Since I'm just a casual user, only look forward for the pure Android OS feel, I only makes call/text and some internet on the go.
My sister using Note 2, her husband using iPhone 5, then feel like going differently after trying their phone.
Currently still using Nokia 5800 and still working fine but laggy

Oh man, I was like from foot walking
(Symbian) and then jump into driving Ferrari
(JellyBean 4.2) lol

i was thinking because the Nexus series was made not because of normal users but more for developers. anyhow, definitely anyone can buy it and use it normally without rooting or don't find the need to have root apps, rom flashing, kernel flashing, etc but won't it be fun that a newcomer to the nexus series play around and enjoy the benefits of having a developer-worthy phone? as how i see it, it will a good phone for both newcomer and current android users to further enhance their knowledge of how android works and familiarise with whats going on in the developer world. Basically, it ensures that by having a nexus and playing around with it, one can be part of the on going development and in some ways contribute to the developer community by giving feedbacks or just plain testing newly released stable roms.
OR, maybe i'm just saying all these as i felt that geeky part of me wanted to be more into development than average ppl.
