Open the link and check for the situational income fund under areca. The project is for sepang gold coast expansion and return is 10%p.a.

Why using a cached link? Instead of straight to FIMM?

If I'm not mistaken the instrument is a 5 year MTN structured by Areca Capital. As far as I know its unrated.

The underlying is a property development investment shared between Sepang Gold Coast (or something like that) and the Selangor state govt. The total amount they are wanting to raise is RM25m. They are being sold in blocks of RM50K/100K.

Seeing that the amount being raised is relatively small, and the funds can be easily obtained through a collateralized business loan, a 10% yield seems unusually high.

Caveat emptor.

the rest of the days i just put the money into my company's current account

Depending on the amount and the TAT you require, you you can have a look at :
1. Overnight deposits,
2. Short term money deposits,
3. Cash management funds,
4. Money market funds.

How does the returns differ for each type?
I assume overnight deposits is sweeping arrangement that zero effort is needed to decide how much cash flow I'd need and therefore how much I can place for how long. Would the return be much lower than say 7 days time deposit?
Btw, we r very out of topic 😜

Yeah, that would be a correct assumption. Just call in before 10am if you need the funds today.

1. Overnight deposits - T+0 - 3.2%
2. Short term money deposits - 1 Week - 3.3%, 2 Weeks - 3.4%, 1 Month 3.6%
3. Cash management funds - T+0 - <3.2%.
4. Money market funds - T+2 - 3.4-3.9%.

Not OT, MMFs are still UT funds .. tongue.gif tongue.gif

noob question about UT disposal.

since withdrawal was from EPF Acct 1 (20% of excess balance), if I dispose all my UTs, where does the fund+profit goes?

back to EPF Acct 1? can I instruct the fund credit back to Acct 2?

according to this almost similar one....
Q: When I sell units that were purchased through my EPF Account 1, do I get a cheque for the proceeds?
A: The proceeds will be credited directly to your EPF Account 1.

With equity funds are not doing well this year (bad economy, generally equity funds becomes high risk low returns?), thinking of switching to balanced or fixed income funds.  Would like to seeks experts' opinions from this forum.  Of course this is a broad question, it is always depends on which equity  fund and which balanced/fixed income funds.

EDIT:  it is always good to diversify, im investing from epf, and already have equity fund, planning to invest in equity fund again, but thinking twice, maybe it is better to put in balanced/fixed income funds.

Recently Zurich Insurance Malaysia Berhad had launched global funds, where they invest in global equities instead of local, as you mentioned local equities currently not doing well.

Hi! Newbie question here.

I have 500K eligible for withdrawal from EPF 55-year pension. No intention of using this fund.

Should I leave it in EPF, which offer better return compared to bank FD?
Or any suggestion how I should invest it to get better return than EPF dividend?

Thanks.
*
Recommend you to diversify your funds, remain some at epf, put some into FD & some into global equities. PM for info about global equities.
