QUOTE(colossians @ Mar 14 2015, 11:29 PM)
Nicety,

I am looking for a smart TV box, not much time to spare on researching, but reading through the forum, looks like Q16 is suitable for my needs for streaming movies and watching movies through file sharing of downloaded movies either via PC or NAS (can Himedia Q16 do this ?). Was thinking of using an old desktop as NAS instead of buying one but need some help in setting up the as this is the first time I am doing this.

If above is possible, please let me know and PM me the best price and "how to". I am going to use it on a new 4K 3D smart TV  in one room and another normal full HD smart tv in another, possible to use the same Q16 for both or need 2 Q16s ?

TQ

Thank you for inquiry.

Please find below link about file sharing between Himedia box and Pc.

However, there is only one HDMI port, could connect to single TV only.

First, isolate the problem come from the box, HDMI cable or other. Try to use different HDMI cable, preferable if you can test with another different. TV.

If you install hocontrol in your phone, just remote to the box via hocontrol and set the resolution to 720p or lower.

Please pm me your test result.

Hi nicety, tested with different tv, still the same. Change connection from hdmi to yellow video/black red audio port, then video ok. But the audio sound not clear. Any idea?

Bro, i think you have confused by some iptv provider where you buy the entry level hardware and pay monthly subscription for the content service.

Himedia is producing the player hardware but do not sell iptv content because iptv is illegal. We guide our customers to stream free movies and dramas. Please read further in our forum thread to understand further.

Please find below link for new Buyer guide :

Dear Customers,

If your M3U file getting older and has broken channels, new M3U file(bbtspvr.m3u) is available in my skydrive under XBMC_KODI sub folder. Just overwrite
/sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/bbtspvr.m3U with latest bbtspvr.m3u file downloaded.

If you still running XBMC 13.x, it is time to upgrade to KODI 14.1 using our 5 steps quick guide "5 Steps Quick Install KODI 14.1 Addons.pdf" under subfolder
"KODI HELIX 14.1".

im interested with Q5III, main usage are for browse webpage, youtube, access google playstore/apps..
- are there any known issue with google playstore? any apps not playable, slow?
- is web browsing and youtube playback fast?

QUOTE(nicety @ Mar 10 2015, 12:51 AM)
Thank you for inquiry. Since your requirement are browse webpage, youtube, access google playstore/apps, then Q5III is a bit over design. The entry level H8 could be sufficient for browsing, YuoTube and Google Play Store.

Please find below my answer :
- Android is open Operating System Support different CPU architectures such as for ARM, x86, MIPS and etc. It depend on the skill of the app developer. A good developer will design the apps to support multiple architectures with multiple SOC. A bad developer design an app supported limited hardware. For example, the first version of AstroOTG support only Samsung Pad, Samsung Note only. Therefore I could not guaranteed you Himedia box could support 100% apps in the Google Play Store. Further detail, pls refer to the link http://developer.android.com/google/play/p...tiple-apks.html

- Web browsing response time is depend on your internet speed. YouTube app is download from original Google Play store.

Thank you for inquiry bro.

Q5 demo could be found from YouTube, search "Himedia Q5 Quad Core".

Q5 Quad Core is the same as mentioned in the first thread.
