I just downloaded this file from himedia site "update_dualcore_Q5_en.zip". I was wondering if this is for the Q5II chipset. If so, how to update the unit. The filesize is quite big - around 349MB

does Q5 II comes with xunlei yuancheng? I can't find it anywhere but the official website do show it

Xunlei Yuancheng only applicable for China version firmware only. Technically you can take the risk to apply China version firmware onto your Q5II by renaming the firmware file. You can find how to apply China firmware onto Q5II oversea version as shared by one of the buyer in the earlier topic of this thread.

Hello everybody!

Just got my first Himedia Q5II player, and was trying to update the firmware, but it failed.

I then googled a bit, and found this forum. Now I regret that I didn't buy it here :-)

I have the same problem as others here on the forum, the update named "update_dualcore_Q5_en.zip" is not recognized by the player. I tried renaming it to "update_dualcore_Q5.zip", in case I got the chinese version, but it will still not read it. Tried both upgrading from system menu and the reset button.

I have the 1.02 interface, and the reason I'd like to update is that I get chinese text in gamecenter and other places.. I'm guessing I got the chinese version.. Bought it on Alixpress.

Any help would be very much appreciated.. I really would love to have this in english.

I think I might have the english version after all.. The main text in the interface is english.. But most the text in the "Much More" gaming item is chinese.. What is this gaming "store" app? Does it come in english as well?

I really liked the interface and the possibility to download emulator roms and games directly. Would love to have it in english, or at least if someone could post a pic of the screen explaining what the different menues are for.. :-)

I believe your are English firmware but 1.0.2 UI do not translate the Chinese to English completely.

Just received my Q5II today.
For JB buyers, please be informed that it will take upto 7 days from the delivery date before your item reached, this is due to change in working day for Pos Office services in JOHOR since 1st Jan 2014. Seller has been giving constant follow-up and excellent response to my enquirers, thumbs up for him!

Firstly, did not buy off you, as only came accross this site after I bought my Q5 II eMMC, but wish I had as your support is great!

I got a copy of xmbc from tablet republic that is supposed to be configured to work with himedia player, but it deosn't seem to work (at least not for me). Do you have a working copy of xbmc I could download (and appropriate playercorefactory files)?

Also, do you have a copy of the most recent firmware for the Q5 II eMMC version? 1.0.5 I think...

And lastly do you have a link to the a website where you display the products you sell for next time I plan on buying media player etc..?

If you use XUNITY to watch TV Shows, pls goto VIDEOS menu instead of XUNITY menu. XUNITY TV shows menu sometime crash halfway. If you still using 12.2 or 13.0 Beta XBMC, pls upgrade to Frodo 12.3 which is more stable.
