QUOTE(mengsuan @ Nov 28 2012, 06:05 PM) I've used 10W-30, no issues. As long as oil pressure don't drop until the flow cannot be maintained, it's fine. How to make sure? Urs LM 10-30?http://ferrarichat.com/forum/faq.php?faq=haas_articles has info about grade, viscosity, pressure and flow. Added on November 28, 2012, 7:18 pm QUOTE(shaz61 @ Nov 28 2012, 05:40 PM) Ori? Remember I told you guys that I changed to a custom thermostat? Here are some results:
Readings taken from my daily drive to work. At above average cruising speed, the temperature here shows 81C, while the original thermostat keeps the temperature at 88-91C because whenever the coolant is cooled by moving air, the thermostat shuts the coolant flow. ![]() When I slow down my cruising speed, the temperature can go further down: ![]() This was taken when I went home, it was a rainy cold day. I drove the car at average cruising speed: ![]() |

What's the optimal working temperature for the Campro engine?

The Torque software that I'm using announces that the engine is at operating temperature when coolant temperature is 71C.
I think engine oil are only effective to protect the engine at 70C minimally, I've seen this somewhere before, can't confirm now. Some Campro turbo do their own modification to original thermostat like cutting slits on it to leak coolant at all time. Some just remove it. The advantage of using proper custom thermostat is there will be no coolant flow when engine is cold, just as intended to warm up the engine ASAP. Disadvantage, cost. |

QUOTE(jasonloh7906 @ Nov 28 2012, 05:57 PM) so sad. so its time to change to sport rims 16-17" as well XD Thanks for the explanation new tyres are installed at front because we are having grips and acceleration from the front. our car are more prone to understeering, if front no grip, higher understeering, the worst, you steer and your car just move straight on. however, if you have new tyres in front and botak tyres at the back, you have no understeering, but most probably you will powerslides or spin. if i am having 80% thread at the rear and my front tyre crack, i will just put the new one at the front. bcoz, eventually the front tyres threadwear will be so fast that you suddenly realised that the front new tyre have lesser thread than the rear. if on tight budget when it is due to change 4 tyres but can only afford 2, then it is of coz wiser to put the new behind unless you are very good in driving sideways. I guess I'll be going for either the Yokohama C-Drive 2 or the Michelin XM2. |

Hi all.. Newbie persona elegance here.. Tranquility Black AT B line.. Minta ampum sifu sifu tunjuk ajar how to mod car for better power..
QUOTE(Cavino @ Nov 28 2012, 04:02 PM) Changing tires to a smaller size which slightly exceeds 3% radius difference is still acceptable.. the common cause for brake failures is more related to the weight of the wheels compared to the original rim weight.. Thats because there is a threshold in the braking power exerted. So if u upsize ur tires but the tire + wheel weight is largely unchanged, the upsprung mass of the wheel is still the same, hence deceleration force is mostly the same too.Added on November 29, 2012, 9:17 amHMmm cabin filter bulk.. i want join too..
