QUOTE(sylar2000 @ Nov 20 2012, 01:58 PM)
ok dude, i will avoid go to machine car wash then..

Added on November 20, 2012, 2:04 pm

so i must wash and wax.. avoid polish right?

so let put it this way..
I live in a apartment, and I park my car in building la.. My car will not be under hot sun most of time, so if i apply wax on my car.. it will last for 1 month or so?

I planning to wash and wax my self, but I dont know what to do and dont do..

sorry to say, I also dono how to use wax.. but im willing to learn..

maybe you could suggest me any good wax product?

If i share wax from a friend, can I apply it to my car? his car is brown/yellow colour, while mine was black..
*
Uh. Cleaning car may sound easy but actually proper tools are required. E.g a good microfiber washing mitt will reduce the chances of swirl marks being inflicted on the car. This is why you see people getting expensive car washing tools even if they're, well, expensive.

When polishing / waxing, one thing to take note of is that if your polishing sponge / cloth falls on the ground, don't use it anymore or use another side of it as the side which touched the ground may have picked up small sand grains. If you rub those against your car you'll scratch your car's paint.

For car polishing, it doesn't have to be done every month. But it should be done prior to waxing if it hasn't been done before or the last one was done long ago, maybe about more than 6 months. That way you'll prepare the surface, and with wax you'll be protecting the surface.

Eh someone said before that there's this 3M filtration material that we can put over our in car cabin filter right? How much does it cost and where is it sold? I took mine out to wash just now and it really doesn't look like it does much.

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Nov 21 2012, 08:40 PM)
Thermostat is not universal, that's why it requires custom molding to produce just a few. Because of small scale production (we only made 30), the thermostat price is higher than original Proton thermostat. Each thermostat is RM100.

Some wonder why not just remove the thermostat, it's cheaper to do so. This custom thermostat specification is 55C, this allows your engine to warm up like usual, providing protection to the engine as soon as possible. At operating temperature, the custom thermostat has larger opening than the original.

Just now I was stuck in long jam at LDP, the temperature did go up to 90C, but the coolant is quickly cooled without restriction when I move the car. Once the traffic is smoother, the coolant stabilized at temperatures that I can only achieve when it's raining.

Eh... I am interested, but are there any side effects?

How much would the workmanship be if we wanted to swap the thermostat? hmm.gif. Also I can't confirm my order yet until I have done some other car washing equipment purchase. biggrin.gif

Anyone got contacts for a friendly workshop nearby our location?

Labour should not be expensive, even I can direct them what to do if they don't know. I just don't have the tools.

Ehm... Now as I read an old thread on those adjustable camber screws, I feel quite worried. Some say quality is bad after awhile gone. I didn't take my original screws back cry.gif.

Me too.. Din take back the ori screws.. But we have to live with adjustable chamber since its ald chg..
What's the diff basically?
*
Uh.. Basically those screws allow the wheels to be tilted up or down, aka adjusting camber. hmm.gif. But apparently unless your car has been in an accident before, it doesn't matter if you keep the original unadjustable screws. But meh, whatever it is those numbers on the screen do mean something I suppose. hmm.gif

Actually I have not much knowledge on this subject. biggrin.gif Maybe you should dig around some old threads relating to this issue here. You can google for adjustable camber nuts and it should show some threads from Lowyat.

hi all...new thread...

it's normal...
the car use driven by wire...

want to ask..anybody had install the mud flap??

I seen it before on a Persona at Kelana Jaya. It quite spoils the look of the car, and it doesn't look like it protects much either. I saw water / dirt spray stains over the sides.

laugh.gif Definitely don't like the front of that car.

And those Neuton tyres are definitely fairlry cheap and sound very promising. My next tyre change will probably include them hmm.gif.

hmm.gif? I thought larger diameter rims are more susceptible to denting compared to smaller diameter rims.

Nope. But I went through the cabin filter sales thread before. hmm.gif. If I want more filtration then I'll get that I guess. I'm just hoping for one that is carbon activated as well, not just a filter biggrin.gif.
