I have just download the Astro Go apps and now i am facing some problems with getting back my Playstore so that i could have watch it on bigger TV instead of Ipad.
How can i mirror it with ipad so that i could watch it on large screen tv? is it by using Samba?

I wonder if anyone of you has the same problem as mine when viewing Cloud TV , slow buffer and kept showing connection speed on the screen. Almost every channels such as AXN, Celestial etc.
I have changed my modem from dlink to Asus RT14UHP which claimed to be better coverage and im not sure if the setting in Asus created the problem but i have checked on Auto Channel, set to 40HZ for faster instead of 20hz or 20/40hz but its still buffers . The worst is YouKu but PPTV seem okay to me .

Can somebody share if you are able to view cloud Tv channels without any of the slow connection or buffers meters showing up on the screen every time ?

i understand yr problem, the frustration w/o playstore. but in the end u got the aotg apk? it shud read On-The-Go_6.3.0.apk, about 42mb. if u hv it, just use file manager to install it.

ipad mirror - i just found out that it stopped working now. it used to work (just activate the airplay icon on ipad, select device), so dunno wat happened.

free cloudtv is like that... very moody one... decoder no gud, slow connection, etc. just hv to stick the few channels that usually work. else, pay the subscription, should work much much better. i only watch discovery hd world, natgeo people hd and channel news asia - they work good all the time.

youku never work, dun bother. pptv and vqq work well.

is imgotv = mangotv?

So you pay RM100 to samba? Is there option for the RM6 per match, I can't find it?

Not sure about step by step, but the instruction above has been quite clear.
Here's my attempt:
1. Download from the link
2. Look for your version, if your unit is nand version select the nand firmware, if it 's emmc select emmc version
How do I know:
a. Check the buttom of your unit, see if the model has a (emmc) written
3. Save the firmware to USB drive
4. goto setting,ssystem,upgrade
5. select the drive letter of your USB, usually you will see C and D (after you conenct the USB drive), C is your unit drive, select D.
6. If t prompt "Do you want to upggrade" then you are right on path, if no either your firmware filename isn't what its' liking, or you selected wrong drive letter.
7. Answer yes, the unit will restart, the unit will perform upgrade cycle during it's booting.
8. The unit will restart by itself once upgrade is successful
How do you know:
a If the upgrade is not successful, you will see the android man falling dwon with message failed, dun worry, your unit is not bricked, it will restarted by itself ang boot into the old firmware. Quite smart i would said.
9. Once restarted, goto setting, system info check the version num.

This I think is purely playstore add-on for chinese firmware which didn't come with it, not the full firmware.
But strangely we need to use system upgrade method in order to install it, it seem to install google play framework into the unit firmware.
I tried before ( not from the same link), indeed it does what it claims, so no worries.
I was thinking maybe we could extract the gogole play firmware and inject into the chinese firmware not sure it will brick the unit?

yes.no, i use the id/pw of someone else who is not using it.
those with superpacks or sports pack, hd or not, are given auto complimentary passes.
once u install aotg, u can see 4 special channels for wc2014: 841-844.
the rules for this are clear - only one id/pw per eligible subscriber
the id/pw is allowed to log in and use aotg only on one device and one user at a time.
video quality is just sd, but watchable.
this is atog app where all 64 matches will be shown live.
there is another app called astro-go-fifa which has more feature, incl various angles.
i tried this one too on himedia, can get only audio, no video. so, useless.
aotg wc channels and go-fifa will be removed after the games.

but no... with original 1.0.6 china, i hv tried to install playstore app that way but rejected. seems the firmware will block anything google.
but it works with other apps incl xbmc_12.2_hiplayer.apk and u-tube.
yes, the customised version works on q5ii non-emmc, no problem.
one way to get xbmc_12.2_hiplayer.apk (47.4mb) is to first get the zip firmware 1.0.6 eng emmc. (this one is easy to get, right?)
unzip this folder with pc->userdata->app. that xbmc apk and the u-tube apk are there.
just copy them on usb drive and install via file mgr on q5ii.
note u need to delete all existing xbmc versions first, if not it will not install.
the hiplayer xbmc version works good - all 720/1080, dts/dd5.1 good, no crashing, no lagging, no irritating noise.

i fully understand the frustrations of all non-emmc models users as i hv one too. i am "fortunate" in that i have 2xq5ii, one non-emmc (now on 1.0.6 china) and one emmc (now on 1.0.6 eng emmc). I save all my firmwares, system apps, user apps, xbmc userdata, advanced settings and play around with them on both units. They are both working well - one on wired lan, the other wireless lan.

with 10mb unifi, my home is filled with video and music day and night from media playback, xbmc, mangotv, hitv, cloudtv and aotg. other than the monthly biil for unifi and tnb, all that is wonderfully cost effective!

I used force update method, and it works on my Q5ii nand version.
I have tested mine it works, but YMMV so I can't guaranteed it.
Anyway after that, I flashed with 1.0.6 3rd party chinese firmware already with Google Play bundle.

Surprise you have 2 Q5ii with you, is the EMMC version booting up faster, and browsing in apps menu faster too?
They claim it's booting is faster by 50% for EMMC version, and I have feeling that HiMedia is slowly dropping support for NAND version.

With the help of my network guy, my asus router were removed out from my room and placed outside the staircase upstairs. I notice the improvement in all my cloud tv channels and also youku which i cant obtained last night. I will try again tonight, maybe night time bandwidth is bad .. No concrete conclusion yet if removing the router closer will improve speeds at different timezone.

gud if the force update works. may try some day but no need at this time as I can easily manually install apks I get from the other unit.

the emmc version is a better model. much less trouble with updates, xbmc. and yes, start up is much faster.

been so long, no news on 106 eng non emmc.... does not bode well. n q16 already on sale...

it will help but won't get all good all the time due to many factors. yes, diff times of the day have diff traffic.
Mangotv also behaves the same... Popular sd stuff, smooth. Less popular hd stuff...sometimes v gud, sometimes nothing moves....

Any success watching world cup live without buffers? So far, my attempt with all channels in Cloud TV fails me. Connection buffers all the time . Quite a lot of channel in cloud TV showing the live event but too slow.

likely during this wc2014 period, a lot of traffic, buffering/lagging will be common on many channels.

r u on free or paid cloudtv, which channels u tried? i hv not tried anything on cloudtv yet, but will try tonight.

rtm1/2 - can get via xbmc own xmls as discussed in xbmc thread. i checked yesterday, they're working.

aotg - i been watching this. last night mexico-cameroon match was buffering or not clear 1/3 of the time, think heavy trafiic. the rest were ok, good enough.

Cloud tv have few channels with good quality but buffers. I dont pay for the cloudtv. I assume its the same for paid and non paid channel, maybe not?
Astg not working for me. The screen shows for Fans only but i have register online already. Wonder why ?
So far, im download fr torrents but i always heard the results first before i watch replay.

cloudtv... i think it works this way... free channels: some stable, some not, because they change all the time, do all kinds of tests. paid ones, u go thru some other vpn, a lot more stable. btw, sometimes they give u free trials 1 day, 3 days - these r also not very stable, in my experience.


astro - there are 2 apps:

aotg - this a regular one. need id/pw, log in, then only u see. qualified package ids get all extra channels. non qualified ones can get only arena, limited matches in bm.

astrogo-fifa - only used for wc2014, with himedia, only audio, no video even with good ids/pw. so, forget it. works gud with ipad, though.
