I just got Himedia Q3 II which has problem playing MKV files with DTS audio. Every 10 to 12 minutes, it will generate noises. Try to update the MX Player but still the same. I am using HDMI for both audio and video. Any idea how to sort this out? Thanks in advance.

why aint my device not able to do system upgrade to 1.0.7 . the firmware just said its the latest firmware 1.0.6.

can't remember... is yr device non emmc, what firmware now? if non emmc and on 1.0.6 china, u shud get auto update. but i suspect this auto update comes in batches for diff batches of devices, not all at same time. so, maybe just wait for it to come.

remove gotham, reinstall 12.3 or better still, hiplayer 12.2.
i will stick to hiplayer 12.2 until there is official hiplayer gotham 13.x.

Any one try to use vpn with Himedia q6?

probably due to heavy traffic for the matches now, there is increasing buffering in all channels.
just need to try a few and see which one works best at the time.

i check cloudtv, xbmc/navi-x (several channels here), mangotv/timeshift and aotg. one of them will work ok.
for aotg, try exiting and re-entering the channel, it usually improves.

my gf cannot read chinese so just asking does it have anime, korean, etc tv shows that have english sub

only astro on the go works perfectly but blurry a bit. all channels in himedia buffers. including xbmc

Gotham 13 and 13.1 works for me n Q3ii and Q6ii, both eMMC mdels.

However after installation I need to disable in the settings ''video acceleration-mediacodec'' and then the streams for tv and movies can be opened and played.

Did you try the plug in codec which can be obtained from the web site ''Thaimkv'' specifically for the Q3ii emmc (ffmpeg_v7_vfpv3d16.apk)

I don't know if it will help but its worth a try.

.. do u need to add or tweak the advancedsettings.xml file?
.. does it still crash sometimes or all smooth?
.. does it lag when streaming 720/1080 dd/dts?

i have been using 12.2 hi player & 12.3 but still encounter crash problem.
It not sudden crash but take time 5-15minutes in the movie (stream or HDD), so annoying..
tried gotham before but once you start stream or play, xbmc will crash straight away.
any help?

Hi Neooren,

If you go into settings and in the left column click on video.

Scroll down to the bottom and set the page from standard settings to advanced or expert settings.

The menu should show the acceleration option. Click the mediocodec radio button to off.

I think it is a known issue in xbmc that live streaming videos with acceleration, the videos cut off at 10 to 15 mins. At the moment the only way to solve is to turn off the video acceleration in settings.

I am able to watch videos with librastagefright activated without any video cutoffs.

2) For myself all smooth and no crashes (with mediacodec acceleration settings disabled)
3) For myself, no lags streaming 720 or 1080.
