hi, I'm new in Android TV. sorry if I post in wrong thread. I read the first page but no idea which product suitable for me. my requirements are:
1. budget RM300 or cheapest as possible.
2. just looking for android game play, leverage smartphone as gamepad, bundled RC or pair proper gamepad.
3. no video or music playback/streaming required.
4. no external HDD support required too.
5. I need 3D or high end gaming support.

validated xbmc is now frodo 12.3.

not sure but seems a few more things working better after updating to 12.3.

ok, sd only, not hd...

i just tested this on q5ii with both wired and wireless lan.
works well, good, even for 50ft wireless.
but astro-otg hd stuff will come out non hd. good enuf for small tvs, but appears sd on larger tvs.
guess hard to expect even 720p for any streaming.

the good feature of astro-otg is it contains some, not all, old episodes of certain shows, so can catch up, like what other apps offer on androidtv.
so, if u hv or can get an active astro id, u can have one more fairly good app on q5ii. app is in playstore.
one more thing to share... if you find hitv channels lag and slow, try this one. best so far, i find. 720p comes out ok, usually.

no need workaround.
first u must register a valid astro account to get id and pw.
then install the app on q5ii from playstore, just like any app.
open app, id and pw asked, key in.
and viola!

same simple procedure for ipad.

in play store, it is listed as astro on the go, logo is astro go.

think in one other thread, someone explained it can't work on q5. cant remember which one...

im on unifi 10mbps streaming also quite laggy sometime i will pause n let it buffer a while then it will be smooth.
Anyway is there anybody here use/install the bittorent on the Q10.Any guide for doing remote?

do you use air mouse? thinking of getting one since the bundled remote is pretty inadequate

ya that's the best way, but for others in the household to use, and also looking for a remote that can control other devices, so far I only found Rikomagic Mk702 ii, any other air mouse / keyboard combo that can also control other devices?

Hi guys, anybody know how to use the learning function in Q5ii remote control to control the TV (on/off, volume)?

Do I need to install additional software or those preinstalled is sufficient enuf ? XBMC is used to watch movies only or can be use to download movies too ?
