isn't the slr a pure carbon shell only??? no comfort on that rite??? i haven't seen a 00 before... what difference is that compared to the carbon railed antares?

but usually.. i do feel that the selle italia is a bit more comfortable than the fizik..maybe it is for me.. i do mean in general taking into account of the shape, padding...

SLR tekno is purely carbon shell without padding. SLR kit carbonio has thin padding. antares 00 has more padding and flatter surface compared to antares braided.

actually for diabetic people in sports... they just have to know how to handle their own conditions... like when to call it stops and when to continue...

the only real danger is hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia when you engage in sporting activities... which is why it is important to try and measure you blood sugar level before and after each session in the begining to know how your body reacts to sporting activities...

once you sense any signs that you want to faint, cold sweats, palpitations... it's time to stop and take a rest as you might be suffering from low blood sugar...

there might be quite a lot of diabetic riders out there.. but you won't know until they tell you about it...

if you are on diabetic medications.. it might still be possible... but once you are on insulin injections... i believe you are on for life...it's too late

Just need to measure sugar levels regularly - exercise increases insulin sensitivity and reduces blood sugar, always have some sweets on hand to top up in case it's going a bit too low / dropping too fast.

FYI, Type 1 diabetics need to start on insulin injections straight away .. and there's no going back after that.

Some Type 2 diabetics that started insulin treatment already and drastically change their lifestyle can reverse their condition as long as they get enough movement and eat healthy.

Just did some more rounds of DPC, around 21km in just under an hour (55 minutes), fair bit slower than last night but the heat / sunshine makes it more difficult blush.gif top speed only 35 vs 39 yesterday rolleyes.gif
Just hope I don't get sunburn icon_question.gif

err... you sure about such a saddle... it's a ball masher, you know..

actually, i never liked carbon rail saddles lar... those normal rails already give creaking sound from my weight... scared carbon beh tahan from the bashing and mashing..

i've liked the flite series all along... from more than 10 years back...used to own one of the marco pantani flite saddles on my MTB... just bought it because it looked fancy.. .haha..but cheap also back then.. RM1xx only if i remember correctly..

in this case, i think maybe the fizik is more comfier than the selle...

u sure it's not the monolink rails oh... i know they made some special saddles that uses their proprietary monolink rails...damn f@ked up stupid...

you better try and see pre and post insulin injections on your sessions... so you get a gauge on how your body reacts... but then, i think you are pretty much on a schedule with your injections which should not cause much problems...

you don't need to be riding fast and killing yourself... just enjoy the surroundings... faster means more accident prone and i guess injuries like road rash is not what you diabetics like since blood is harder to clot for you guys and the wound healing takes longer...

not to scare you lar... but better be safe than sorry...

21K under an hour in DPC where there is turns and roundabouts with cars zipping along is pretty much as fast as you can go i guess...

damn that doesn't look comfortable to me... the form and shape might be great for riding but i doubt it will be comfortable... carbon is darn stiff unlike my spez that flexes along the rails even though the padidng is hard...

toupe is more flatter over the top... romin is a rounder saddle from what i felt before with my hands...

i know there is a toupe RBX which is even more flatter and wider at the rear.. but i don't see GH having 'em...

the toupe also has slightly less padding than the romin if you don't mind the lacking of it...

the romin does have that extended longkang thing which depending on how you see it... is a bad thing during wet riding days...the romin also has a slight curve downwards in the middle between the rear and the front while i felt the toupe is flat as pancake... it depends on which you like better.. both are definitely aimed at different people...

best is to go there and look look see see first.. and you can take the chance to plant your ass in their ass machine to find your saddle size.. maybe still have 30% off somemore...

I'm quite used to cycling as a diabetic just had a 2 year "break" after moving to Malaysia (was living in UK before, cycled everywhere!) . Less insulin requirement is good too , need to buy less insulin rclxms.gif

Last night was closer to 26km in about an hour - but of course at night there is no heat, and less cars.

Just need to get some padded shorts again, my bum is pretty sore yawn.gif

my arione still in good condition. so... it's more like a case of itchy hands and the quest of dipping below 7kg mark. haha... if there's 30% discount, i might be very much tempted. but, if i were to get that saddle, i need to change my seatpost too. clamp not compatible with ovalised rails
