Oh wise one. Do you find adjusting the real derailurs a breeze? Despite the YouTube sifu, somehow I still didn't get it quite right, frustrating la!
Messing around with the barrel and limit screw, end up getting screwed deeper in trouble. Seems the gear hangs up a bit when shifting down and on the other hand, when shifting up, short rattling before getting it into the grove. How la like tat?
Anything I can do or visit my LBS? cry.gif

usually once you set the upper and lower limit properly it should be quite straight forward using the barrel adjuster to fine tune.::

else bring it to lbs as it could be something else like a bent hanger causing issues

i dun think he can attack the steep stuff anymore like the climbs in giro and vuelta...at least not dropping his rivals...which is why he chose to tkae time on purito in one of the easier stage where coincidentally purito was showing signs of struggling as well

my balls must be like the size of boogers... furthest i went is only 5.5km away from home...and i am paranoid about getting puncture, snapped chain, broken spoke that near from home...
hahahaha the funny thing was 30% of my load was spare parts and tools, where i only brought with me 2 piece of baju for a 10 day trip. a side note: head and shoulders shampoo make the best hotel sink detergent. hehehehe

hi, another newbie here. scouting around, and with +-2k budget, i found one that catches my eyes, merida race lite 900.. read the first post in v4, couldnt brain much from that! haha.. wish me luck..
(do tell me to reconsider if this is really a BAD choice!) tongue.gif
thanks

p/s: can anyone be kind enough to enlighten me on the difference between merida ride and merida race series? compare the equivalent model and found that the only difference is the frame, but cant see what

i soap it if it is too hard, also good to use levers where you can hook onto spokes if you don't have an extra pair of hands around the house

it's not a bad choice... the race and ride series are built for different purposes... the race frame as the name states is a more racier geometry, it is built to be more compact with a lower head tube causing a bigger saddle to bar drop meaning you have to bend down a bit more..

ride on the other hand is the opposite of race in a more longer headtube so u sit more upright... basically it is a frame meant for more comfortable long distance riding and a mellower handling characteristic...

many bike brands do a simillar 2 frame lineup like this...

Get the race series..it'll suit you in the long run later on, unless you intend to be leisurely riding then the ride series will suit you more.
