Seems like some of you prefer Flex over 360? Any particular reason?

I see that can open a HLB basic savings account online. Is it completely online from end to end or eventually still must go to branch?

How about annual fees for the account (or debit card), is it completely zero or will be charged on anniversary date?
*
If basic savings account it is fee free

Yes the final part on document verification and account activation has to go to the branch to activate and collect your debit card and OTP setup and verification

You can’t avoid not going to branch as it is a security measure 🤦‍♀️

I opened HLB Basic SA online 3 months ago using their app. Received account number, mobile and internet banking access on the same day and debit card in my mailbox 1 week later.

No bank visit required.

rize acc only pay 0.75% per annum quite lowwwwwwwwwwww.

Lower than I expected, I expected at least a 1% since they advertised how "rewarding" it is if you keep money in the savings pot, but 0.75% is still a bit better than an ordinary savings account with little to no interest rate and the convenience of a fully digital process in opening an account.

take note interest is excluding agent fee which is about 0.01% if i recall. Its in their PDF documentation when you are about to sign-up as part of their brochure. My observation is you will only get the interest when you use their "savings pot". Otherwise if you just leave it in the main account you won't get a single sen of interest.

But I like the convenience of the sign-up process - very fast, the debit card took 2-3 days to deliver and i use it mainly as a secondary bank to link systems like grab etc and transfer minimal money in case it gets hacked etc.

No annual fees for now but if you're an existing al-rahji customer you cannot register yet...(go figure).

maybe you register halfway and system capture as incomplete registration and you need to visit branch to finish it?

I think the service is no longer available for BSA, being replaced by the HLB ewallet SA. That one still can.

The cashback will be credited on end of following month. Eg spending on December, will get cashback on end of January (but i got on 2nd February). For november i got end of December.

From their TnC;
10. Cashback will be rewarded with the 5% Cashback based on the eligible Online Retail Purchases at the end
of each calendar month and will be credited by the end of the next calendar month to the Eligible Customer’s
Promotion Account
