All abnk have it. Make sure to specify free basic savings account. There basic savings account which cost like RM8.00/year.

Up to you. If you want acesss to ATM everywhere go Maybank. If you want old fashion bank, go with public bank.

All banks have similar procedures on these but HSBC is the worse because they will leave customer hanging without updates and status of the opening 🤦‍♀️

Physical documents is common is just that the way how each banks handles it but HSBC take it another whole new level 🤦‍♀️

So far the only bank that I tried and completed successfully for online account opening is OCBC with their Flex account, everything done seamlessly via app and card mailed to me directly, no hassle at all. This is the kind of bank that I'm confident to keep my money in.

HSBC on the other hand, after experiencing all the dilly dallying, never again. sweat.gif

I opened OCBC 360 but it wasn't fully online. Must go branch validate, sign, and then go counter queue, thumbprint, deposit money, then get debit card.

If I'm not wrong, they promote Flex as a fully digital account, their app even has a special section for it for opening an account.

For 360, I think they did mention that you have to fill in the application form online and visit the branch for verification process, probably because both accounts cater to different needs?

But at least they are straightforward about it. biggrin.gif

I have never open online. I always go to branch. Yes I use free BSA as my salary crediting account and also my savings account. But for me I only keep RM0.10 inside. The rest I dump into KDI save.

Just curious, is there annual fee for Rize and what's the interest rate for keeping some money in the account? So far can't find any info regarding this from their website.

If I'm not wrong, there's no option to opt out from debit card for Flex.

Personally I think the annual fee is acceptable since it offers decent interest rate with a low threshold for minimum deposit, but of course it would've been better if annual fee can be waived.

Get it waived once you got Flex 🤦‍♀️

Mine be waived both automatically since I got the Frank which was Flex predecessor

OCBC is easy to waive the fees subject to their minimum transactions

I see that can open a HLB basic savings account online. Is it completely online from end to end or eventually still must go to branch?

How about annual fees for the account (or debit card), is it completely zero or will be charged on anniversary date?
