this is still back to portability... i think there was a saying.. the best camera you have is the one in your hands.
i understand what you are trying to say, what i mean is given the same scenario, mood, location, if you take a photo with hp, compact, and dslr - i’m pretty sure the dslr will capture the highest quality shot :-)
Right, portability Yup and the waterproof reliability. Yea, generally the bigger the sensor, a higher quality image is be expected but technology keeps changing the odds. That OM-D jpg results can beat some APS-C's! Also, New Panasonic GX-7 look to be upping the ante to APS-C's too.
The end results depends on which medium and size is being used, I've seen those huge billboards, department store wallpapers that are huge, single storey high, which probably requires high megapixel count to be that sharp n detailed. But of course maybe they stitched smaller megapixel images to form that one big picture.. who knows

, lot's of tricks in the digital world.

Hi guys, i have some questions about sony NEX-5R. With the kit SEL1650 lens, is it any good for landscape photography?
Also, i have a friend who uses a canon dslr with the square filter set. His long-exposure beach shots came up extremely saturated, sometimes alien-looking in color. How do i replicate this with the nex-5r? Not really sure on what to buy. Thanks in advance!
ic.. my simplistic mind says... just borrow his filter and ask for the settings, copy the same settings on 5R. Maybe Meng Keat can help on the filters and stacking of filters to get that.
Today @ CEX, met MengKeat and RX-78 .
- For NEX, one stall selling casings RM50 for 2 items.. the casing looks like Gariz type.
- Sigma selling 'Art' line 30mm 2.8 and 19mm 2.8 around RM650 - RM690 price.
- Tamron 18-200 i think priced at RM24xx..
- There's a display that mounts and OM-D on a vibrating platform and u see the image shake on the big screen. When you 1/2 press the shutter.. my gawd

the image stabilizes so perfectly. NO wonder 5-Axis is sooOOo.. impressive. Imagine this on the NEX-Full Frame!!
