Hi everyone,

I am thinking of getting my self an NEX-5RY, the one with the telephoto lens. I am also thinking of getting the macro lens that's on promotion together with the camera. So far the best price I am being offered for the bundle is RM 3,850 in Penang.

Sony Alpha NEX-5RY (RM3,099)
• SELP1650 16-50mm Retractable Zoom Lens
• SEL55210 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 Telephoto Lens
• Sony 16 GB SD Card (SF-16N10) (free upgrade from the 8 GB gift by Sony)
• Carrying Case (LCS-EMF)
• Additional Sony Battery (NP-FW50) + RM115
• Generic Charger + RM50
• SEL30M35 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens + RM599

All the additional items are original Sony with exception of the charger. Is there anywhere else that I can get it cheaper?

I prefer NEX-5R to NEX-6 as it's smaller, fits my tiny hands better and it suits my needs. I am a newbie by the way, upgrading from my current Fujifilm FinePixs S5700 Semi-Pro.

All advice are welcome. Thank you.

with this 3 lenses is almost enough for most occasion! i still short the SEL55210, plan to get it when I have enough budget for NEX-6Y set!

For battery charger, i think better get the original one. 3rd party batt is ok but the charger better be ori!

im interested in getting a Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.4... but i have no confident to buy 2nd hand legacy lens thru online >_<
*
bro, i have 2 Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.4., 2 50mm f1.7, 1 57mm f1.4, 1 28mm f3.5, 2 135mm f3.5, 1 80-200mm f4.5.
All from ebay, conditions are some excellent and some fairly good. but i didn't go for the cheapest one, only choose those which mentioned no haze, no fungus, great condition etc.
So far i'm satisfied with all of them!! no regret getting them.
Those prime is really amazing!! the 50mm are really sharp comparable to modern Zeiss, and the color rendition is quite unique!!
Go get one!!
Btw, getting from ebay is a bit like gambling, must bid only from those seller with very high reputation!! and pls spare budget for better shipping option which is traceable and insured. don't go for First Class international which most of the case will be missing in Malaysia route!!

wow~nice!!! but why u need so many duplicated lens???
*
haha.... those are not duplicated, there are older and later version. Older version have half stop click and upto f22, the later version up to f16 but it is much smaller and lighter. both version gave different feel of output.
So it is hard for me to choose which one to stick with. doh.gif
but later must have to choose one and let go others to fund for tele lens. sweat.gif
some of the 50mm already booked by my friends!!

old manual lens price can be RM100 to RM1k++ and above depends on brand, model and conditions.
Extension tube is about RM30++ for a set of 3 tubes.
It can be up to very close depends on the lens.
this is without optical elements so it not affect the image quality much.

Don't buy those Magnifier type of Macro extension lens. it is quite useless with only can get sharp at the tiny center portion.

you can also use reverse macro ring which a lot of DSLR experts using.

Oh ya.... Guys... My NEX-6 built in flash short circuit. When I flip it out n flash, it spark with loud noise with bunga api effect. The plastic cover On the flash assembly also flew off.

Crazy...  In front of cosplayers. Just this afternoon indoors at sg Wang. Happen with my eye On the viewfinder. Lucky it didn't explode or shock or shatter into my eye.

I use Nex weekly for the past 10 months, only sometimes with flash.. But still.. Surprised. Really surprised.
*
Bro, can give more details how this happened? Is it just flip out and fire the flash?
Any tilting when it happen?
i just suspect the bending on the connection was short circuit, and when fire the flash it spark!

Did u send to sony service center to check and claim warranty?
