I have a few experience buy watches online, in fact I bought 2 mm homages and a laco from Germany online. Each time the parcel arrived without any issue. There are no taxes on watches but if your worried about it being stolen pay a little more to have it insured. Better be safe than sorry

Looking to buy my second automatic watch for casual occasions. I am very keen on those military themed Hamiltons. Any idea how much Hamilton Khaki King/Field costs in Malaysia? Currently in Australia pursuing my studies, I want to compare the prices. I know Amazon prices are around USD 370. Thanks guys.

Why is the Tag not much loved? Over priced?
*
Overpriced because half of the money you pay goes into the pockets of Lewis Hamilton, Button, Sharapova, Di Caprio and Cameron Diaz.

They produce solid watches, just that they are overpriced. Eg, Tag Formula 1 is never worth that kinda money they are asking these days. I would rank them personally slightly better than Tissots or Hamiltons, yet its ridiculous to buy a quartz when you can get a Tissot automatic chronograph for the same price. That being said Grand Carrera and Aquaracer are fine timepieces.

Also these days a lot of replica Tags are being worn around in Malaysia due to its popularity. Just drop by Petaling St. A non-WIS would think that a Tissot/Hamilton is more expensive than a TAG if they see you wearing it. Eg. Tissot PRS516 chronograph

He he he it is in USD isn't it. Have to be clear, if it is MYR, I'll grab it ASAP.

BTW, I'll go drool.gif on NOMOS anytime, I love it to bits.

Only problem is, if it goes bonk, there will be no service agent in Bolehland. Since it is not swiss but Deutche, I am afraid there may not be skilled people to do the servicing here.

That is my caveat for this horologie piece de resistance.

over here if not mistaken at least rm1.6k.

but i wouldnt mind getting into the pants of sharapova whistling.gif

and i doubt they get half of the money as that would eat away at most of the dealer's profit tongue.gif
anyway, endorsees dont really earn money from watches sold...they get paid an amount up front.
tho the same can be said for every other brand out there with a solid marketing campaign...which no surprises has rolex leading the front spending almost double to the nearest other watch co's ad spend.

Well it comes without manufacturer warranty if purchased from Amazon. Only comes with 2 years amazon warranty. Is it possible to negotiate a discount in Malaysia from RM1600?

Haha. I am well aware that celebrities don't get money for each watch sold. Lol. I am just stating that part of the premium paid is because of the marketing expenses which 'elevated' the watches' image in the public eye. Tags today are featuring the Seiko movement after ETA decided to stop supplying theirs to others. So, yeah, branding plays a huge part in this industry.

And yes. Who wouldn't want some action with Sharapova thumbup.gif

swatch group will not touch a nomos.
U can get a private watchmaker to do it.
I own the below nomos and I wear it daily.
http://www.nomos-store.com/en/Watches/Ludw...ystal-back.html

JW watch in SG is a AD but u have to order them, I don't think they have it in stock.
else order on watchbuys.com if possible. I got mine there, had to order and wait for 2 mths iirc.

Tag F1 is a rip off. And yes, I think a bulk of the $ you pay for TH goes to the advertising. Zenith would be a better choice within the same family, but the price is also higher.

Still, anything close to the TH's Carrera Chrono in terms of design? I considered the ML Pontos Chrono before, but the price on that isn't much cheaper either. I'll exclude the Omega Speedmaster Pro, since you can't buy new ones with 321 movements inside, all the ones currently sold are simply replicas of the real moon watch.

I think you won't have to worry about service for the next 5 to 10 years. And there's a seller in Singapore so I believe they can arrange service for you.
