i heard some people having no problem buying from online overseas sellers and have no problem so far. maybe buying items that are not too expensive should be ok?
Any watch fans here have experince buying from overseas online sellers? can share info?
I have a few experience buy watches online, in fact I bought 2 mm homages and a laco from Germany online. Each time the parcel arrived without any issue. There are no taxes on watches but if your worried about it being stolen pay a little more to have it insured. Better be safe than sorry

to all sifus here, i have a few questions regarding grand seiko. I went to the mall and tried out the GS spring drive SBGA005 GMT and i really love how smooth the second hand sweeps. I also tried out the hi beat GS and surprisingly the second hand isn't as smooth as the spring drive.
So my question is when one get a GS, is it a no brainer to go for the spring drive model? And the sales person told me that if you have a spring drive GS, you must send the watch to Japan for servicing or repair but if you have a regular mechanical GS or Hi Beat GS, the local service center might be able to service it.
So for someone that will buy a GS, should we only look at the spring drive models?
Think about long term bro. Sercice cost will cost a bomb, not to mention the waiting time.
yeah that's why i'm having a dilemma now, because this will be my first big purchase and im lost between GS spring drive or the new sub c 114060.
The sales does told me that it takes about 3 months time to send it to Japan for servicing. but i'm really mesmerized by the spring drive movement, it is so smooth it is surreal.
I strongly recommend you to get a Rolex first, if you don't already have one.
Yeah a lot of people have been telling me that, I wonder why? Anyways few days ago i went and try the 114060 sub c no date, the feeling when the watch is on the hand is definitely different, i don't now whether issit because the Rolex advertising is playing tricks with my mind but i do feel my heart beats faster when I'm wearing the rolex.
Personal opinion... no date Sub C more balanced and classical.
Add one more, 20 years from now... you're not wearing an old watch. You'll be wearing a vintage Rolex.
yeah i love the balanced look of the ND as well. also eventhough ND is a few grams lighter but when i put it on my risk i can feel it as well. I for once prefer watches that are lighter
Anyway, I think this advert from 1965 says it all and still relevant today
yeah if i get one the first thing is i will get a black nato strap. Looks very sporty. Anyways the new sub c is without lughole, do we need special tool so change the strap?
Just like any watch with springbars...just kinda tight.
I use those small flat screw driver for tightening eye glasses but pay a couple of bucks for springbar removal tool if you change often. Just to minimize accidental slipping and scratch the lugs/caseback.
yeah i saw this video as well, but lets say we manage to put a leather strap to it, and you know how leather strap doesnt have the two holes in the middle like a metal bracelet, how do one remove the leather strap then?
my brother went to the shop recommended by sifu here in bsc price for a 114060 sub c is 21k
also the price i was quoted for the GS is in bangkok as i work here. its in emporium shopping mall in sukhumvit to be more specific. im really poisoned by the spring drive movement but ive decided i should get a rollie first for my first grail watch.so for tourists you get a final 6 percent vat refund at the airport. really tempting at this price

14060M are initially non- COSC but later series are COSC. Stated on the dial. If the Pelagos is any indication, the black bay should exude the same aura of desirability.
Anyway, for the Tag budget... there's soooo many other choice.
Like a LLD would be a much classier choice
does it mean that the non cosc sub is not as accurate as the current model?

2 lines non COSC cleaner, and more original. Mine is X serial 1991/1992 production, might be funding for a SD. 21k brand new? Good price. COSC is just marketing gimmick.
I see, the dssd look ridiculously big on my wrist. so I hear that you sent your watch in for regular service?
guys actually how important is it when you purchase your rolex to have your on name on the registration card? Does it even matter if you claim a watch that doesn't have your own name on the card?
