QUOTE(zulayuka @ Jul 22 2013, 11:41 PM) Then it might have to do with your fear of the weights. I'm not saying your scared of them but you feel that you might not be able to lift it. But if you've been training for a year you should be quite confident with yourself to push yourself harder. Its all a matter of your own willpower! You need to harden your mentality. If you really want to push more you need to force yourself to do it. I'm guessing your training on your own? if you are and your not pushing yourself harder then you need to find someone to help motivate you. bring in a friend to be a spotter so you can try pushing higher weights. But yes, I'm sorry to say that if you've been training for a year and haven't increased much then its really on you. You have to take the next step and say yes.. I can do it. Even if you only get 3 reps on a higher weight. Atleast you know you can get that weight down and push it harder next time. But if you stagnant and don't push yourself then of course you won't increase. ya, im training alone. haha...thanks for ur advice i will try to train heavier...

QUOTE(superman99 @ Jul 28 2013, 01:25 PM) ya, im training alone. haha...thanks for ur advice i will try to train heavier... All gud mate, Just remember to believe in yourself and you'll started increasing the weights very fast. Just be careful because you are training alone. So slight increases at the beginning would be best as you don't have anyone to support you if you get into trouble. But yea, the first part is always the hardest, when you get used to increasing the weights you'll increase your weight rapidly so don't worry. because you have been at a lower weight for a while you should have your form perfectly~ so it will help a lot when you increase your weights. Good luck mate and don't be disheartened if you can't increase it a lot straight away just take it slow and steady and you'll get to your target weight eventually. Just make sure to keep increasing no matter how small the increase is, it's still an increase~

QUOTE(ah_suknat @ Aug 31 2013, 04:11 PM) wanna ask, do you guys set the record and do all 3 lifts with in the same session? or each other day? treat it like a meet. test all three on the same day. for me, I prefer to do it in order like a meet and that is squat-bench-deadlift. hence the order at the beginning when I started this list. it's not a competition but if that's what gets you motivated and pumped, more power to you and you can use that to propel yourself north of where you are currently. NB: I need to spend time collating all this information. bear with me guys and gals. This post has been edited by whatdamn: Oct 9 2013, 11:27 PM

anyone interested in having a meet to set some PRs in December?
would be good to meet up with like minded individuals who are interested to test their maxes on the squat, bench and deadlift.
was thinking maybe we can set this meet at kampung pandan gym rakyat as they have a decent power rack and from memory decent 700lb bars and will only cost us rm5 (unless they've changed their pricing).
anyone up for it, PM me.
