Whoa.. Surprised to see someone recognize me lol. Anyway, I'm trying to hit 850 lbs by end of the year. Trying my own mixture of strength + hypertrophy routine.

Hey guys ill try putting mine up.
But I havent tried for 1rm yet so I'll put up what im training with at the moment:
Squats: 264.5lbs
Bench: 242.5lbs
Deadlift: 297.6lbs

All together only 804.6lbs.. Still a long way to go..

All this is raw and I do 3-4 sets of 8 reps. I've never used a strap before so not sure how to make full use of it. But if I can keep getting higher raw then thats good.

My weight is at 76kg(167.5lbs)

Looking to improve it next week!

I very funny because my squat-bench-deads all (almost) same weight, where on bb.com you can easily see that most westerners have higher squat and deadlift stats than their bench press sleep.gif, so just wanna ask also, am I doing something wrong? Or is it genetics or something.

Bench 105kg - 231lbs
Squat 105kg - 231lbs
Deadlift 110kg - 242.5lbs
==
Total - 705.479 lbs

Your not doing anything wrong. But people usually can squat and dead larger amounts because they are using the biggest muscle in the body for these exercises so thats why it isn't a surprise if they exceed your bench.

What I suggest is try pushing your squat and deadlifts a little more, you might suprise yourself at how much more weight you can actually do now.

And it could be because you've trained your chest much more than the other 2 so we never know~
Just keep doing what your doing but try pushing a little harder with the squats and deadlifts and you'll see results.

Then it might have to do with your fear of the weights. I'm not saying your scared of them but you feel that you might not be able to lift it. But if you've been training for a year you should be quite confident with yourself to push yourself harder. Its all a matter of your own willpower!

You need to harden your mentality. If you really want to push more you need to force yourself to do it.

I'm guessing your training on your own? if you are and your not pushing yourself harder then you need to find someone to help motivate you. bring in a friend to be a spotter so you can try pushing higher weights.

But yes, I'm sorry to say that if you've been training for a year and haven't increased much then its really on you. You have to take the next step and say yes.. I can do it. Even if you only get 3 reps on a higher weight. Atleast you know you can get that weight down and push it harder next time.

But if you stagnant and don't push yourself then of course you won't increase.

Thanks for the advice. Yes my chest has always been stronger because when I was a beginner, I focused a lot on my upper body development sad.gif . However, I do feel that I can push a lot more with deadlifts, but just not with squats, maybe because it just felt a lot more dangerous lol to go parallel. blush.gif

Ah yes of course there will be that feeling that you might not be able to push it once you go down! Thats fine with squats, just stay on a lower weight for a while and just do more reps as that is still good for strengthening your legs and will help with toning them. Then when you are confident with your balance, form and strength then push harder~

It will also help if you have a spotter with you~ You can really push your limits if you know someone will help you when you need it. So if you have someone to help you just ask them to with your squats and then try pushing for a heavier weight and see how it goes~

Good luck with your training mate!
