Before flashing, 1st restore to factory default

Flash with this
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?pa...ini_generic.bin

after that remember to do the 30 sec reset (hold the reset button & power on, hold the reset button for 30sec)

You are good to go..flash the firmware to any of the "wrt54g" flavor u like such as std, min, vpn..etc
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads.php

Std:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?pa....v23_wrt54g.bin

mini:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?pa...mini_wrt54g.bin

good luck! rclxms.gif

Yeah using its original firmware Firmware Version: v1.00.6

Too hot will cause it to DC by itself ar?
router is connected to the modem directly of course.

I'm scared to flash it cuz you all said that if done wrongly it will go kaboom and warranty will be void

Just follow the steps and don't do something that you're not sure, ask around before you go into it. Flashing it is simple as 123 provided you are clear about what you are doing.

Edit: Typo

mine was hot too, it got burned 2 times and I'm too lazy to take it for RMA for the 3rd time, I'm using my spare laptop adapter with it and it's much cooler.

hi, i have set the static ip for my wireless & wired connection, i checked my BT's listening port with http://www.canyouseeme.org/ , the site always can see the port with wireless connection but not wired one, anything i set wrongly? FYI on BT running, with wireless i could see many remote clients but wired only shown local clients with much much slower spd. Appreciate your help, thks~

IMO, you only port forwarded to the wireless connection and did not port forward to your wired connection.

Alright, I tested out that site you gave and I don't think it is really accurate for me. I did try that and the ports that are opened for mine seems to be not detected by them wheres uTorrent detected it was opened.

maybe u r rite but one thing i can assure is with wired connection, the spd dropped drastically and couldn't see any 'remote' clients as what wireless do

You cannot foward the same ports for both PCs. Please use different ports for different computers on your network.

Hmm, try reverting back to the old linksys firmware and see if the problem goes away.
Possibly a hardware issue.
