QUOTE(ANGELING @ Jun 6 2006, 01:00 AM) faced a problem while installing my WRT54GS.....my modem(Aztech DSL305E) cannot detect my linksys router......anyone faced this problem before? make sure you set your WRT54GS to router mode and plug your modem into the WAN portEDIT: i read start from 1st post.....is that the cd that comes with the router('run cd 1st' stick on it) is totally useless? i've to use dd-wrt to install my router? Thanks in advanced... just flash your router with dd-wrt firmware and forget about the CD, it's just a wizard that helps you configure your network, that's all |

QUOTE(jinaun @ Jun 6 2006, 12:37 PM) u can try this method.... technically it should work it seems like a short-circuit and I can't access dd-wrt's configuration page when I link my modem the way you mentioned, thanks anywayof coz if ur modem and the router uses the same IP, eg. 192.168.1.1 then you should configure either ur modem or router with anohter ip.. eg 192.168.1.2 after this u should be able to access ur modem (192.168.1.1) and ur router (192.168.1.2) This post has been edited by blaxez: Jun 6 2006, 01:04 PM |

QUOTE(azmihamzah @ Aug 20 2006, 08:32 AM) dd-wrtv24 build 19/8/2006 has better wireless transmitting capability. Wireless status page show 0 Tx error compared to last build (tested using 2/8/2006) which has around 5000+ packet error after 1 minute up time... it's still in alpha stage btwEDIT : just let u all know. |

QUOTE(hardyboyz888 @ Sep 26 2006, 06:10 AM) This is because when you have QoS enabled, you won't achieve maximum speed. The values you set will be the speed you can obtained and the rest are reserved incase more bandwidth is required then only the reserved bandwidth will be opened up for other users. This is useful especially for people who share their connection. i think he means http browsing as it should be set at the highest priority |

QUOTE(hardyboyz888 @ Sep 28 2006, 03:35 PM) You still can flash it to DD-WRT but it's a little more hassle as you will need a JTAG cable to flash DD-WRT for a WRT54G v5. Besides, it has less RAM which could also mean less stability compared to the others. WRT54G v5 can also be flashed with the dd-wrt micro (not mini) which has the essential functions of dd-wrt wihout any JTAG cableThis post has been edited by blaxez: Sep 28 2006, 04:38 PM |
