How long that u bought this WRT54G V7? If this's a brand new router that u bought from computer shop, within one week time u can go back and do 1-to-1 exchange. Last month I bought a WRT54G, and when I open the box to check the version, it's a V7 router which's not supported by DD-WRT coz not using Broadcom chipset. So I went back to the computer shop and asked for exchange to other model, ended up I topped up a bit to get WRT54GL, which's a very good router. If they asked u what happen to the router, just say u have bought a wrong model and don't mind top up to get other model, and also tell them u haven't used it yet eventhough the open is open.

This's how I get my replacement, u better exchange it fast coz everyone knows to avoid the V7, nobody wants this router unless u sell it very very cheap.

Any serious issue? Or juz because it cant be used with DD-WRT?

Hey everyone.

I need a recommendation for a good router that's available in malaysia that supports DD-WRT as my current levelone router hangs everyday. I have been to the DD-WRT wiki and I notice that each model has different firmware versions and there are those that dont work. So what models do you guys recommend that's supported?

If I have AP1 and Ap1 is actually giving DHCP , so I can repeat the signal supplied by AP1 using Ap2 Ap3 ?

Normally I use WDS setup to wider my wifi range.

We are very proud to release the final DD-WRT v24 to the public. After months of development and bug fixing we are sure this release is as stable and reliable people expect a DD-WRT major release to be. The v24 binaries are now available in the download section.

DD-WRT v24 offers many new features, on of the most important is support of Atheros wlan chipsets and SOC designs. By supporting special features of the Atheros wireless designs like half- and quarter channels and extended channel support DD-WRT is now perfectly suited for long range wireless links. With this DD-WRT is now also supporting the whole Ubiquity line of wireless products using all available features the hardware offers.

Highlights of DD-WRT v24:
- Virtual SSIDs, Virtual DHCP-Servers, PPTP over WAN enhencements, Bridging + VLAN support, VDSL Support, OLSR-Routing / Freifunk, My Ad Network (powered by AnchorFree), Quaqqa instead of Bird (in X86 + Xscale default),  PPPOE-Server, EOIP-Tunnel, Network configuration enhencements, UP-Downstream (QOS), New Packet Scheduler HFSC, Save & Apply, extended DDNS options, extended status information, New Languages

New hardware platforms:
- X86, Avila Gateworks, Atheros Soc (for a list, please look into the Download Section), Compex,Senao, Fonera, Ubiquiti

Thanks for all the help and response we got.
