I'm currently using Hyperwrt, if I want to flash it to ddwrt v23, do I have to do reset or something?

Also is it worth to jump boat? I'm not in Wifi thing but more concerned abt download issue coz this router has been used by me and other user, if the other user runs BT then I will face slow down problem while surfing, even I limit the speed on the other user's BT also won't help, so I wonder it'll be any improvement in this case.

I'm using WRT54G V3.1, last year I flashed it with HyperWRT_G_tofu10 until now. This firmware served me well compare with buggy orgianal firmware so I didn't follow up to flash the latest firmware.

Until recently my brother keeps using BT to download his stuffs, and my connection will hang or die after half hour or so, but his connection is still active and rocking, that's really annoying me!

So I want to know whether this DD-WRT firmware can solve this kinda problem? Can anyone explain to me how to do flashing to DD-WRT firmware for my case, remember I'm using HyperWRT not the orginal one so I wonder any different about the flashing method.

Could it be possible to switch on/off the wireless connection from the router itself instead of doing it on the admin page? I saw the light is turned on at the left hand side when the wireless connection is active, I wonder it has anything to do with the on/off switch for wireless.

I've one WRT54G V3.1(stated at sticker below the router), and I've been using HyperWRT 2.1b1 quite sometime already, and I have some questions to ask, hopefully any sifu here can help.

I've been using HyperWRT 2.1b1 along with cFos for internet connection optimization, but recently I saw one guy mentioned that DD-WRT can do as what cFos does, is it true? Also how come in the configuaration page I saw the firmware is v4.30.1 instead of the V3.1? Can anyone give me a guide of how to flash my current firmware to DD-WRT? I remember that u've to reset the firmware or something so just want to ask to confirm, also recommend the best DD-WRT firmware version as well.

Thanks in advance.

I finally flashed it to DD-WRT v23 SP2, so far working great. One thing I want to ask what's the MTU value that u guys set in the router? If I'm not mistaken Streamyx is using MTU 1492, so if set it to 1500 can get any improvement?

How long that u bought this WRT54G V7? If this's a brand new router that u bought from computer shop, within one week time u can go back and do 1-to-1 exchange. Last month I bought a WRT54G, and when I open the box to check the version, it's a V7 router which's not supported by DD-WRT coz not using Broadcom chipset. So I went back to the computer shop and asked for exchange to other model, ended up I topped up a bit to get WRT54GL, which's a very good router. If they asked u what happen to the router, just say u have bought a wrong model and don't mind top up to get other model, and also tell them u haven't used it yet eventhough the open is open.

This's how I get my replacement, u better exchange it fast coz everyone knows to avoid the V7, nobody wants this router unless u sell it very very cheap.
