hi everyone.. regards from me..
just a week back, i hv received an offer letter from exxon for its engineering position (fresh graduate). in its term, it has stated that i am eligible for benefits, but have not stated what the benefits are. and i feel that it is right for me to know what the benefits i shall be getting if i were to join the organization.

in terms of medical? loans? holiday (if applicable)? etc, for fresh grad hire.

i hope some of the lyn-ers are able to give some info smile.gif

Transportation - Got those mini bus ala pink sardine box era circa 80s that operates every half an hour. Depending on the distance, bus fare range from RM1 - RM3.
Normally folks will phone cabbies to move around, RM10 per ride. They comes in various colors though, blue green and yellow i think.

Entertainment - So so, the major boozing area is Poppin Disco and also thes one in the hotel. The no 1 joint for ayams and your friendly neighborhood pimps. Also you have a handful shady pubs here and there. Seafood near port area quite chun and booze is cheap (duty free mah.)

Shopping mall - Only one. Think they call it Labuan Shopping complex or whateva. 3 floors i think. Yep u got ur KFC and Pizza Hut inside the mall but no Mc D.Parkson only 2 floors ala Brothers spare parts shop in Kelana Jaya.

Cinema - got one double storey shophouse near new labuan area..(forgot the name.). Don't bother, 50 seats only. Have to book advance lar unless you wanna watch movies that were 3-4 weeks old or Hanna Montana show. Might else bit torrent at home.

Streamyx & mobile coverage - Standard.

Im an IT Grad in 2006 but i also can work in O&G industry..

It's almost 4 years now.. i've been to may rigs(jackup, semisub, tender barge) around malaysia and also overseas(sudan, australia, ethiopia)
If u want to work in O&G, u have to work hard and be prepared to throw away all ur social life haha..
Sell ur soul to ur company.. and u'll be rewarded..

I've met a lot of friends.. from Schlumberger MWD, Halliburton, Ororgenic, BJ Cementer, etc2
Right now im at Ethiopia.. will be back in 10 days.. cant wait to enjoy haha

it was part of post-internship evaluation, so there wasnt official job application, except for internship application which was done 3 months before i commenced my internship. therefore, i'm not sure how long it takes for them to reply after u apply.

IT? Hmm... don't think so but you can try work related to Instrumentation, Automation, Process and Solution.

Try these companies:
1) Emerson
2) Yokogawa
3) Setia Teguh
4) Trisystems

and more of course...

Kemaman got nothing but things still cost quite a bit
small town but everything is expensive (especially if they see you in a coverall then all the prices guarantee increase)
nasi kukus ayam is already like RM7 + sleep.gif"
nasi campur separuh with just egg and sayur aso RM6 +

haih

anyone wants to open a mcD in Kemaman ?

High salary? Not really considering the amount of time and effort that you need to put into. And moreover, to warn you that in this oil and gas industry, we're risking our life to do the job.
