bro..i think u better stick with Avanza..just bcoz u can save 150, but u end up paying more for the installment...how would u know u will save 150 to 300? based on the calculation of the other forumner? every ppl have different right foot and diff location...i would be happy if i finish paying off my car if still below 10 years...
*
Thanks, gheyfriend. The FC saving calculation is based on Mirage's 21km/L stated in their website and some forumer's feed back. My Avanza will turn to 10 years old in 2015... and the resale value of 10+ years old car will be dropped more (current 7-8 year old Avanza 1.3 auto model is fetching around RM27k-30k, after two more years... it may dropped to RM20k and below), thus, it make me thinking to trade for the Mirage. By the way, likely I will keep the Avanza, since it doesn't give me any problem, except a bit high FC.

Once again, thanks for your advise.

Haiz,...

I already place RM1k booking for this mirage in Dec 2012. Is been 2 months and I am still deciding whether to go for it or not.

The biggest issue for me about this car which also 1 of the main reason y i drag so long.... is because of the super soft spring.

Don't mind the small size, the CC, the looks (still acceptable) and technology. However, the body roll issue is something hard for me to accept. My friend warned me, the soft spring will cause the car bouncy and if any accident happen, the car can turtle easily.

Is it true ?

I really have no idea WHY ? everything about this mirage is good except when they install this springs. The reason they use soft spring is mainly for comfortable driving. I personally don't think it this way.

But a car weighing 850kg (lightweight) and with soft springs, it already become more like a rally car.

Not sure whether I buy it now or wait for 2013 batch (March/April release) to see any changes on the spring. I tested on hard corner, u really can feel that you will "SINK" down unless you corner real slow.

Maybe i need to train with a horse 1st to get use to the bouncy feeling.

Well, please provide some feedback. Negative or positive all acceptable. Confused !! unsure.gif

LOL, your friend very funny
your myvi turtle already, this car also won't turtle
turtle is becuz of handling and center of gravity
this car have some great handling
that day there was some dead animal on the middle of the road, have to take a hard left to the left lane suddenly
did it and it handled very well
if it was myvi, i think turtle already
the spring can be changed, its purpose is for comfort
everyone know saga have exceptional handling but do u know its original spring also super soft?...when got rear passangers, the spring will sag
only in facelift like saga FL and FLX, proton change the spring to harder spring
but that sacrifice the comfort level as well

+1

Soft springs alone don't cause turtle, poorly proportionate design does.

well, i do feel it does sink when turning on sharp corner, my mum is worry hence she slow down a lot when cornering now

however, both me and my mum feel mirage is much more comfortable when the road is not smooth than the 2.0 accord which we sold it . hence i don't have much complaints on the soft spring biggrin.gif

but then, on highway, it's really a very slow car sad.gif i know it's not mean to be speed, but well sad.gif

well, i don't know, i just feel that it's much slower on highway when want to overtake when compare to my gf viva 1.0 auto

but it's a much stable ride when on highway la (comparing to viva 1.0 auto)

i still like it's short hood and the interior (the radio , aircorn part) is still nice , and keyless is always good

PS: again, i know it's irrelevant here, but just sharing , i tried put D, and just pedal to max, 0 - 100km need 16.4 seconds. just sharing ya...i know it's irrelevant to do such test for a supposed eco, city car

Hi Samlee,

I did a 0-100kmh drag too with my friend's mirage. I managed to clock about 12 secs. I start slow and soft, when the auto gear hit 2nd gear and about to change to 3rd gear, i fuel up all the way. It was really smooth. As far as i know, this is how Mivec engine works or to say CVT gear system. Just to share abit here. icon_rolleyes.gif

Redkord,

As for fuel consumption, it depends on driving condition and situation. Don't hit the gas pedal too hard when u are about to drive again.
Maintain a constant speed and distance when driving. Poor road condition with humps, holes and bumps play a part too in your car FC.
If you can clock between 18-20km per ltr of petrol, it is really good enough. So far, most mirage owner claimed that they can drive up to 2 weeks with full tank.
35 ltr x RM1.90 = RM66.50. Not a bad deal for daily drive.

Update again soon with some useful details.

When u set your car to km/l mode, u will constant monitor the meter there
The car will "teach" u how to drive.

My old wira, I constant flying over 100kmph, now I no more fly, u can see how much petrol u save by driving 70-90kmph
it uses CVT, can easily potong car if u wanted to.

When u thinking of mirage, u thinking of saving fuel, not compare how power a car is
If you are worried about going up genting with this car, fret not.
The car has more power go up hill than my over 10 years wira 1.5l.

Whats surprise me and until today I still getting hard to used to is the car roll distance after u let go of the gas pedal, the speed doesn't go down fast enough, so most of the time, if u go slightly down hill, u can let go of the gas pedal and let it roll.

it took approx. 5 sec (or faster) for my old wira to drop 10kmph, this car, felt like 6-7sec (or more) to drop 10kmphon a flat ground. The car also teach me that it doesn't really like to brake. The less brake u press, the more FC u save. biggrin.gif

Again, Im not a professional review or driver. I can merely compare it to my old car wira 1.5l auto. If you wanted a powerful car, there are a lot selection out there. Mirage are advertise to be an eco car, which save fuel but this doesn't mean it wasn't powerful at all. In short, the more u drive the more you save fuel.

if you accel over 100kmph, yes, u can heard the engine noise very clearly inside the cabin but anything sound coming from outside, is very minimize due to the good sound proof. You can hear the sound ONLY when you accelerate , if you maintain it at 100kmph, no loud sound will be heard. A lot of complain about the antenna easily broken, so I didn't raise my antenna up since it get good reception even without raising the antenna, biggrin.gif The antenna tip I saw was rubberize, so I don't think it will make a bad mark on top of my car when I go thru bumper~

In old day I always rev up to 3k rpm, now, I just maintain it at 1.5k-2krpm. U can watch the video below, I drive exactly like he said (even when the video hasn't out).
