Hi Mirage owners,

I am interested on the new Mirage (mainly because of its good saving on FC).

I owned a fully paid 2005 Avanza 1.3 auto, driving around PJ area with FC of 10-11km/L, based on the Avanza's FC, I am paying about RM300 for petrol every month and will be paying around RM600 per month, once I have moved to further north part of Selangor next year.

With Mirage's FC, I could save RM150 to RM300 per month... is this worth to commit another 5 years car loan....? What do you think... new Mirage or stick with old Avanza (with higher petrol fee), you advise is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

With your current Avanza around PJ
Monthly commitment = RM300

With your current Avanza moved to north part of Selangor
Monthly commitment = RM600

With New Mirage around PJ
Mirage monthly loan = RM650
Fuel cost montly = RM150
Monthly commitment = RM800

With New Mirage moved to north part of Selangor
Mirage monthly loan = RM650
Fuel cost montly = RM300
Monthly commitment = RM950

in my opinion
not worth as you will increase your monthly commitment
but different story if fully cash paid your New Mirage

*mirage monhtly payment lebih kurang la, not accurate
*
Thanks for prompt reply, ikhwanstt.

You are right, after trade-in my Avanza, I need to service car loan around RM650 (auto) or RM540 (manual) per month for 5 years.

Will consider Mirage as 2nd car for my wife (keep the Avanza for myself), once moved to new house next year.

bro..i think u better stick with Avanza..just bcoz u can save 150, but u end up paying more for the installment...how would u know u will save 150 to 300? based on the calculation of the other forumner? every ppl have different right foot and diff location...i would be happy if i finish paying off my car if still below 10 years...
*
Thanks, gheyfriend. The FC saving calculation is based on Mirage's 21km/L stated in their website and some forumer's feed back. My Avanza will turn to 10 years old in 2015... and the resale value of 10+ years old car will be dropped more (current 7-8 year old Avanza 1.3 auto model is fetching around RM27k-30k, after two more years... it may dropped to RM20k and below), thus, it make me thinking to trade for the Mirage. By the way, likely I will keep the Avanza, since it doesn't give me any problem, except a bit high FC.

Once again, thanks for your advise.

yours manual, lain cerita

CVT can reach 100kmph merely 2.2k rpm

First of all I like to say is that the car is equip with CVT which mean you wont be driving like 4AT car. I notice a lot ppl keep saying noisy engine noise, it only happen to be loud when you rev kaw kaw~ which mean you are driving the car like a 4AT. First my thought was same as you guys, the engine are noisy, but after awhile you adapted to CVT, you wont be reving here and there. So its actually very quite inside.

Second, I don't know why ppl keep saying this car tarak power~~. It was advertise as a ECO car, which mean the car was build to save fuel and environment not speed and power. Maybe some ppl having trouble reading...
*
Seem like the CVT version has better FC than the MT version, I thought MT always has better FC... It is worth paying RM8k or RM5k more (than MT) for the CVT GS or GL respectively? Look like the MT only save RM8k or RM5k up front... how about in the long run... I means MT is cheaper to maintain and so on...

MT Mirage owners, why you've made the choice of getting the MT version? Mind to share? Thanks.

Funny thing is this is wat i tought at the first place....MT saves more fuel...then after joining the club and do comparison seems CVT saves more fuel but for CVT the driver makes big diff in FC...... Some drivers don really get better FC than me (MT) some CVT driver get very very good FC (unbelievable result)..... But i believe if u wanna feel pick up (power) u can choose MT and i feel even if i rev my MT i doesnt change much of the FC but does cost a lilttle more.... But clutching is tired work if ur place very jam...i stay in ipoh so i don mind...heheheĀ  and i'm used to driving MT...my last car was a wira 1.5 and i rev a lot....so quite satisfied to MT so i can continue reving the car heheheh

And MT is definietly cheaper in maintaining ...u can see the diff in the service and labor charges... But it does need parts to be replaced such a clutch pad, etc etc.....me no mechanic don wan tunjuk pandai pandai hehehe..... That's my story
*
Thanks for sharing.

I am in KL/PJ area, traffic jam is every where... I am driving a 8 years old AT Avanza 1.3 at the moment, mine FC was around 10km/L (RM50 petrol, 26.315L can get about 260km), after reading some sifu's tip here... keeping low rpm, keeping my Avanza at 2.5k rpm, I can get almost 12km/L... heheh not bad ah! thumbup.gif

Now, I am deciding to get new Mirage AT or MT... or keeping the old car. hmm.gif

By the way, some car companies offering discount for old stock, any discount for those left over 2012 model for Mirage? Any freebie for 2013 new model?

Want a Mirage... look for Jacky at https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2853612&hl=

Btw, where did you all get your Mirage tinted? Any recommendation? Not too costly biggrin.gif

Just sent for 10k service yesterday, noted the SC using Shell Helix 5w30 engine oil. I am not sure they are using this.... http://www.shell.com.my/products-services/...x-hx7/hx7e.html

Just curious, is this fully systhetics oil? Can uses for 10k interval oil change?

Hi guys is it that expensive for a mirage 40k service causing rm994.75? Never seen fuel system cleAner, engine flush parts before
*
I think mine 40k service charged around RM800+ at Mit SC last year, no cheap for such a small basic car sweat.gif

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Mirage owners,

Are you still going back to Mitsubishi SC to service your car, after warranty expired?

Mine mirage is hitting 70k mileage soon, warranty is over, thinking of servicing outside Mit SC, such as 1-utama Eneos car service centre... do they has Mit original oil filter, original o-ring gasket? Any recommended SC around PJ area?

Btw, the Mirage is using 5W-30 semi synthetic engine oil, right?

Thanks in advance!

Just did my 120k service, saw another mirage with 140k service here at PJ.

They quote me 1.1k, check the list & told them no need to change parts that are not yet due. Tolak here and there become RM791.
*
Mind to share which SC did you sent your Mirage to service? Thanks.

Mind to share where did you send your Mirage to service? Outside of Mitsubishi SC? Any recommendation where to service our Mirage?

QUOTE(gabriel.l @ Oct 12 2016, 11:41 PM)
FA Automobiles at PJ.

Thanks! But I was having bad experience with FA Auto PJ. Mine Mirage last service was done at Glamerie Mitsubishi SC.

Btw, your car still having warranty with Mitsubishi? I am thinking after warranty (mine done only 70k+ km / 3+ years) ... not going back to Mitsubishi SC.

Warranty just end on April this year @100k KM, mind to share your bad experience at FA Auto?

I don't know where to find good service outside Mitsu's SC, the only reason I still choose to service here because of the genuine parts, and if u know how to talk to the SA, u can actually get good price for the parts.
*
Mine experience with FA Auto...I sent my car to claim part replacement (under warranty), I was told to drop off the car in the morning, I sent the car at 8.30am (I was the 1st customer on that day) and I was told to collect the car in 3 days...I passed by the SC in the afternoon, mine car still at the same spot where I parked in the morning, no one attend to my case...I walked into the SC and asked them and I said I told them I need my car to be ready in 3 days...waited for 3 days...they told me they need to order parts and asked me to wait for another one week... ranting.gif

QUOTE(elmodistortion @ Oct 13 2016, 11:23 AM)
my car this year is 4 years. since 2012 nov. waiting for my 80k service. im also waiting want to know where good service. actually what can you do is , ask them to print the service part item for each service due date part list, and go to bintang auto to buy spare part.
*
Can we refer to the parts replaced from the bill of service done at 10k/20k/30k/40k (repeat the same service every 40k)? Only concern where to find the original oil filter, fuel filter...parts? Bintang Auto sells original parts for Mitsubishi? Where is Bintang Auto.

Btw, any one sent their Mirage to service at Eneos 1-Utama?

If you follow exactly and replace all items as recommended by service center during service, both Mitsubishi and outside foremen charge around same price..
end up i always arrange my timing to service during or right before the major festival season.. their discounted price can save u alot of money..
*
Hi, you still send your Mirage to Mitsubishi SC to service? Next festival season is Hari Raya (June)... not sure mine Mirage can wait till June for 80k service...currently clocked 78k km.

QUOTE(yeohhk01 @ Feb 28 2017, 10:29 PM)
of cause, my brake pad is viva size with cost me rm90 per pair instead of mitsubishi's rm 300++

May I know where did get your brake pad? I think I need to change mine in the next service.

LYN Mirage owners seem very quiet blush.gif

My Mirage to be due for 80k mileage soon, don't feel like sending it to Mitsubishi SC, any good recommendation workshop around PJ area? My concern is the CVT fluid change and original oil filter filter for Mirage, wrong CVT fluid change may cause major problem in the future.

Thanks in advance!

Does the charges of RM200+ inclusive of oil filter/o ring...? Without replacing the 'o ring' could cause oil leaking?
