wow..with that kind of setup may cost you a bomb if you intend to get a big tank such as 8 footer. Mind to tell me what kind of fish you're planning to put it?

well, a pond would be better, but it will defeat the purpose of swimming fishes in the house itself. so i guess an 8ft(max) will be ideal, or 6-7 footer if 8ft is out of my budget reach.
planning to relocate my overstocked 3ft tank inhabitants, currently holding a 12" fat oscar, a 3" grown feeder goldfish(dunno why my oscar wont eat him like the rest of his frens, but i like him now, got him from 1cm, now already this big), 7 platydoras, an oriental goby and a school of malayan flying barbs.
thinking of adding a few polypterus(if they are compatible with my platydoras,if not, might have to ditch this idea), an aro and others(still looking, probably a datnoides, etc etc..lol)

EDIT*
usually how much do they cost for 6-8ft tank? 12mm thickness with brace, for 2ftx2.5ft? or a 2.5ftx2.5ft side and height dimensions

with that kind of thickness may cost you around 2k + cos glass thingy is aint no cheap boss. sweat.gif cos i've been told from my friend whom work in the glass furniture and many ppl customize their aquarium base on their needs based on the thickness of the glass and length as well to cut cost and long lasting i prefer using fiberglass/poly cos it won't easily crack and leaked compared with glass types. sweat.gif

no need to wall mounted boss. like i mention just refer to the link that i gives to you it is much more suitable for your environment glass and it already cater your needs already since you mention the dimensions you want. if small types like 4feet only suitable for home decoration fish only. if you wan to put many giant monsters fish glass types is not suitable cos some monster fish like toman/arapaima can easily hit the glass either crack it or wounded the fish itself.

if you diy the cost is cheaper than that including the pvc, pvc parts, drills and etc.  laugh.gif try to do it you'll know how to diy it. just follow the steps like i made then should be no problem at all. cos i do that kind of filter is easy to maintain be it 3 trays or above should be no problem. just the matters is what kind of filter you're looking for. maybe i can try to gives you some ideas and what kind of material you need. you mention your aquarium is 4 feet x 2 rite?

okok. then just get 4 tier types will do and get the size bigger since you're using the 4 feet tank.

The ingredients needed is simple only.

1) 3/4 tier tray types ( cost me around 20 for medium (3 tier trays) and 30 for large types (4 tier trays)
1) cordless drill battery type (rechargeable) cost about RM 50 from giant brand. laugh.gif
2) drill bits (size as your preference in order to make the holes for your trickles filter)
3) hole saw (for plastic/pvc types) for 1/2 size for pvc. cost about RM 10 per pc.
4) some of the pvc pipes but i bought it about 16m if not mistaken cos around RM 20 +/- only. Can used for future projects.
3) pvc accessories such 90 degree elbow x 2 (1/2 inch), threaded bushing (1/2 inch), threaded 90 degrees (1/2 inch) and threaded plug (1/2 inch) (cost me around RM 10 cos buy few)

I dont want to puncture holes in my current aquarium.
And also no space.
Who can suggest canister brands? MIC also acceptable as long as can last few years

I am using a tangki filter, it somehow function as a sub tank filter. I found a way which i would ve to drink holes while allow the water to overflow into my tangki just like a subtank setup. : biggrin.gif
Will try to post some photos ltr on.

I just to a fren, a garden supply business owner. He can supply up to 11 feet fiberglass tank + long side glass, if i abandon the cement pond idea. About look, he recommended wood frames, as it is movable & got authentic look too (I'm thinking, i might ask for a wooden deck as well, but will cost a nuclear bomb to my pocket) sweat.gif

Do u know this guy Raymond Soon from Century Religious Supply? Been eyeing his products for years, but he's far in penang..

Cos i would prefer migrate to fiberglass/poly instead of using the normal aquarium glass which can cos a bomb.
