Do they do preventive maintenance as in to refurbish running alternator to replace worn out parts?

since the alternator failed so i request them to repair the starter as well.

you can bring your car here, advice to come earlier as it is usually packed, they have been in business for 40 years now.

toyota sc and merz sc also send the parts here - maybe to repair or refurbish idk .

i think so. try to call. because their espertise is to repair / rebuild / refurbish alternator / air cond compressor / starter.

not so sure about air cond compressor but saw them fixing it just now to a honda jazz

Answer is yes for the preventive refurbishment of alternators. I did that and only costed me rm90, inclusive of bearing change, for my wira.

just got my car towed to this shop. it took 2 hours to repair my alternator. total charge RM 120

No indication what so ever before your alternator decide to stop working ?

This shop is reliable? My vios started making an alternator whine today, typical bearing noise. Its a bit far to go to Kepong.

mine.got weird grinding noise before if failed. one day before got battery warning light at speedometer

So, basically the carbon brushes of the alternator was replaced ? What abt the bearings ?

Are there any shops providing such services located in JB?

Look for Wireman shop in your area, usually on their signboard there is this wordings " Auto Electrical, Alternator or Starter "

Better to look for those old school type, meaning those that have old machinery & old equipment in their shop, avoid those new & pristine type of Wireman shop cause they usually do not provide repairing alternators & starters as it would be less hassle just sell & fix you a New , OEM or Recond alternator or starter. They usually have stacks of Auto Battery displayed in their shop too.

Usually no sign before failure except probably on mechanical side like bearing
