Do check out their burger, i like it  icon_rolleyes.gif
I finally able to find them after carefull hunt back 2mth ago. Because of the name change, i unable to find them last time.

But my favour crepe no more. So have a 2 cup of different coffee to enjoy. smile.gif

there is this cafe call niche cafe in puchong (facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CafeNiche?fref=ts
address: 6-02 Jalan Kenari 18A, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Puchong, 47100 Selangor, Selangor, Malaysia) who sells blue mountain coffee via pour over.
during non promo period it is priced at RM25 per cup.
i am still learning to appreciate coffee and the fuss about the different flavors so i am yet to be able to gauge how good it is, to be honest.
Rm25 for a cup is quite reasonable.

The new coffee shop is in setiawalk, puchong.

I more on adventure in coffee. I would like to try alot of kind of coffee in different country. That make me understand the people of different country. Their taste and passion about drink and food.

Happy new year coffee lover guys. smile.gif

When for a holiday in melaka. As usual for me in melaka, eat and drink. Found a cafe shop call Mod cafe in jonkor. They serving some special coffee. What different about this coffee shop is, the owner roast the coffee by himself. Using his ingredient and machine. You can see his roasting machine at behind the shop and brewing machine in the van and outside. He get the raw bean oversea.

So try out 2 type of coffee. Aceh timtian RM24/cup and China yumen simao RM12/cup. I don't know china have coffee bean. hmm.gif The aceh is the last stock he have and serving to me the last cup.

The aceh coffee have stonger taste and acidic. While the china yumen is lighter. He do have others coffee like Malaysia civet luwak coffee RM60/cup etc. As usual, latte and cropucinno too. Don't remember other name.

If you're in Damansara Uptown probably you could visit Coffee Ritual. They do have fresh Costa Rica coffee beans. If needed they will be able to grind it for you according to your brewing method.

look at the crema from the espresso, Im no expert but thats where the real taste is right? biggrin.gif
Attached Image

And the final product Attached Image

a cafe latte and hazelnut latte.

Managed to talk to the barista who took the time to explain about good coffee and the process and origin to a noob like me, made me appreciate my coffee better. Think Ill skip SB and CB for awhile.

Still coffee noob...anyways I learnt that to make good coffee/espresso can be an art form that might be worth learning..since i enjoy coffee and so does everyone at home plus most of everyone i know biggrin.gif

This is what i learnt...aside from great beans, grinder is very important...good and fresh coffee beans and a good grinder..the basis of great tasting coffee, many people apparently neglect these. Grind only what you need. A burr grinder is preferable, thats what i learnt..dunno why yet tongue.gif

Those moka pots and french presses do their job but a good prosumer espresso machine cant be beat in terms of producing great tasting espresso eg the Nuova Simonelli Oscar (thx to TS who reminded me the brand) , the nitty gritty of it, which i also took the time to research is that this little machine uses a heat exchanger as opposed to a boiler, uses same steam vent and porta filter and stamper as the bigger machines, hence easier to get replacements. Not to mention a better and richer tasting espresso. Plus youre able to produce microfoam from the steamwand, which a milk frother cant. And the temperature is more even.
Another upside is that you get quality espresso of your own strength and taste and hopefully cheaper in the long run, in the comfort of your own home, anytime of day.

Downside is the price, a machine like these is not cheap, plus i hate to think what happens if it breaksdown.

oh..and the drinking cups should preferably be warm, these machines warm cups too..cant remeber why it has to be warm tho tongue.gif

Im sure theres lots more reasons, im no expert but thats what i learnt and know.

I tried the dolce gusto..not really to my liking.

Anyway Im curious as to how important is having a hot water tap in a machine?

Just slowly learn and adventure to drink many type of coffee. And different country taste.

I like to smell the coffee before drink. Some can produce strong smell. Some is so so. Machiine brew can give strong smell from the bubble burst. Siphon too can give strong smell.

I don't have machine and lazy to brew. For everyday drink, I burn the instant coffee by very hot water. That can give nice smell. thumbup.gif

Sometime water do give bad taste to coffee in my opinion. Some water contain too strong chlorine ruin the coffee taste. Dont like the chlorine taste in the coffee.

cg: thanks for sharing! that's awesome lot that u've grabbed in one(?) session? jin yi/coffee ritual bunch are nice folks. i wish i have more time to visit them more frequently.
yes a machine like that is exp, i used to see them in harvey norman ( both the entry and high end levels), but as coffee culture getting more and more developed here, u'd have various importer bringing in different machines from different countries / manufacturer.
the million dollar question might be - as much as we enjoy, or would like to savor a good cup on the weekend, would we have the time on weekday to go through all the fussy nitty gritty of making a good cup (esp in view that we aint prof trained barista that everything, literally eveyrthing could go wrong while pulling a cup(of coffee) ourselves), which end up, we might run the risk of loathing the few k machine for not having good result (but in real fact, it was prob due to us not realizing mistakes somewhere along the way?!) )

having said that, i think the "hot water tap" u are refering to, is that really the function of dispensing hot water, or was it the wand on the right hand side? if it is the wand, then that is actually the frothing wand that help u to froth ur milk ( to have those "bubbled milk"/ "air-ed milk", or milk foam). other than that, if u are refering to the function of dispensing hot water, i suppose when u are making coffee from the machine, u dont want the hassle of running over to the tap get water, boil water, and end up adding in some water which the temperature is no inline with what u have already extracted to ur cup....
