nutrients rather than nitrate, nitrate keep to zero if possible.
nutrients come from your fish poo poo , tap water , food u feed so don't worry don't have
what u have to worry is how to get rid of those excessive one.

also need good concentration of diluted calcium and carbonate for good result, coz is calcite.

wanna ask whats the white stuff growing on my rocks?

why my life rock full with red and green algae??i don't know how to rid them..
i use 2 power glo 20w and 1 marine glow 20w..

water bit murky can't see clearly
grow on rock, maybe sponges

have a good skimmer will help, activated carbon also needed.
light control, gratually adjust to shorter time.

but if you see some bluerish,
use rowa phos to get rid of phosphate, some big tank use phos reactor.
coz this type of algae absorb nitrogen from free standing and convert to nitrate as they need,
other method meaningless

i use phos zorb to absorb the phosphate..i also use no3 media to absorb no3..

hi, just about to start my 1st saltwater/reef tank, been having freshwater aquarium for quite sometime..

i was asking at east aqua ikano bout the reef tank setup.. is the rm12 per kg for live rock is the normal price or can i get cheaper some other place? any other shop recommended near damansara/subang area?

The setup will be in a 2 feet aquarium.. so far without chiller my aquarium temperature is around 27-29 Celcius.. i have an aircon in the room if the temp gets over 30 celcius..

prefer rowa phos, NO3 absorber .. AZNO3? expensive stuff, change water cheaper and better

use dead rock, dry, it will weight a lot much lesser and you save up $ to get a botol of microbakter.
dead rock parasite free & you can drill more holes, epoxy and scape it better, well this depends on individual prefer but this what i will do for my future tank.

temp need to be stable especially if is reef tank, for long term need a chiller & best a sump tank.

i think dead rock, u just go anywhere n collect nice rocks for ur tank. clean it up first.

once a week take your grandma cooking knife cop small pcs of prawn (size of the anemone mouth) throw it to the clown fish
clown fish will bring back and feed it.

this puffer depends on your luck, some will nip tube worm and polyps, some won't

So i can use any rock as a dead rock?? or buy those dead coral rocks in the LFS?

can get from LFS, mostly aragonite base, it will be white color & totally dry, very light weight
other like tufa, lava base which is more harder & rich in mineral which make it strong,
so depend how much rock u gonna put, stack, big tank than should consider harder rock coz you don't want to have rock slide.
small tank just aragonite will do, got $ can get artificial rock.

don't recommend to go collect rock & use if not familiar

this morning i found my anemone upside down =.=, anybody knows why?

its for a 2 feet tank.. issit the rock that is around rm4-6 per kg? i saw at Pet's Family in Taman megah selling those kinda rocks.. looks like this live rocks..

if i want to use those rocks.. i need to clean them first rite? read about few techniques..boiling,drying, water+vinegar ...

u have moderate flow pump? anyhow don't touch it if possible. eventually it will settle down it's prefer place by it's own.

curing rock is mostly those life rock have hitchiker that people don't want yet cannot get rid of it.
