I find it hilarious that there are folks here who say Asus is nothing but greedy. To those who think that... are you doing your own business? If you are, I will pray for you. If you are not, then go make more friends who are full time businessmen.

You can only get so greedy. There is a limit. One can't exactly sell the Nexus 7 for RM9k, can you? But if one can find that sweet spot of achieving that sales target with the max price that they want, why not? And if enough consumers don't buy at the price they want, then they will be forced to revise it too.

Consumers always have a choice. Supply and demand still rules. But to say this and that company is greedy because they want to maximize profits, that is just plain oversimplistic. Complain it's expensive, yes, maybe, because that's subjective to a certain extent (although I still think Rm999 is really pretty good). But show me a business who doesn't want to maximize profits, and I'll show you a failed one.

"Eh... I estimate can sell thousands of Product A at Rm1k! Seems like got demand lah! But I think I will just sell at Rm 900 lah. Got some people complain. Never mind, make less never mind." Can you imagine any company thinking like this?

The funniest part is that most of those complaining about the price are still gonna buy it anyway.

I agree with you, and I spent the last day trying to explain a little "business" economic... but I don't think they understand...

Next time you buy at 7-11, Jusco or even your corner Chicken Rice shop.... just ask yourself... what is their margin.... If you think businesses can survive with 10-20% markup.... you are so WRONG.....lol.....

better you stay on the consumer end.... don't question so much, later you cant even go out buy a Tshirt, or even your economy rice... say everyone else is greedy.....

It is just business, every level makes a cut..... a cycle of life.... some make more... some make less.....

If you believe it is expensive... don't buy.... it is your consumer right... and it may hurt the sales of the N7....

Look at the Iphone5...... everybody complain.... "nothing exciting"..... "not revolutionary".... etc etc... but they still gonna go out and buy one...at a premium price.... (Apple has the highest margin for phones than any other brand, and price controlled!)

Many still gonna b**** RM999 expensive.... go buy imported units from Forum.... I am sure if you wait until all the Senq got stock, their price will drop further..... if you wait till Ipad Mini.... every N7 in the market will price adjust...

I always say.... "Don't blame inflation..... just make more!"

when hear its 999 they go all "oh its so expensive"

i've added a section in the faq about the pricing. hope it will clear the air abit.

Yalor. I'm using it for
a) Browsing
b) View video
c) Read manga
d) Blogging + Tweet + Chat + Skype
e) Games
f) View Pricing on Unit trust, gold, stock

whatever i can fully utilize nexus 7. Probably we should share the app name that we have installed. As we know, android got a lot of app but not everyone the same. Let share the app list than talking price in Malaysia which is pointless.

one small trivia.

the dpi on nexus 7 same as galaxy s2. (216dpi)
means each pixel same size.

resolution is 1280x800, 800x480

the keyboard width in nexus 7 portrait mode exactly same width as s2 keyboard in landscape.
lol...

strange i find s2 screen abit low res. but feel nexus7 screen very sharp.
probably because i hold phone very close to eyes (15-20cm), but tablet further (30cm)
amazing how a small distance can change the perception of screen sharpness.

Cool. Love to see that. Did anyone try use USB UTG and plug to USB Hub (so can connect multiple device). Planned to plug USB Mouse +Keyboard + Hard disk. So far tested, plug each of them is ok. Just worry, not enough power supply to plug multiple device.

Hi, i've tried that before. and its quite pointless.
you see the beauty of a tablet is the lightness and portability.
can hold anywhere you go, sofa, bed, chair, walking, anywhere.

if set up like you described, it will be stuck at the table, and you use it like a netbook,
sitting at that distance, the screen is too small already.

using a mouse on the tiny screen is not intuitive.
the keyboard at the begining stage i always plug it in to type, but after some practice can type fast on n7, i also lazy to plug the keyboard already.
its fun to test out the keybord and mouse combo. but after awhile the excitement died down, its really troublesome and pointless.
