Just want to share with all current/future nexus 7 owners : for your storage purpose without rooting there is an app call Nexus Media Importer which reads from any usb storage. Its just like stickmount except u dont need to root ! there's catch however : u cant write to usb storage, only read/copy. Its good enough for me to watch movies on the go. and for small files such as docs/pictures there's many cloud service free. for VPN service, here's a little secret : cactusfreevpn google it plz.... thank me if u find it useful. Added on September 21, 2012, 6:33 pmQUOTE(mustanks @ Sep 21 2012, 07:29 PM) just wanna to ask, how many hard to connected VPN on yours N7? i'm hardly to get connected... superfreevpn.. been trying from morning... superfree vpn is rubbish, try the one i just suggested. QUOTE(Nakaoji @ Sep 21 2012, 10:27 PM) Me as a first timer tablet user, are you guys recommend N7 ? The main reason i am searching for a tablet is for study. (Browsing internet for articles, open my email, reading ebooks, open PDF files, open Words or PowerPoint documents and store educational documents) So, is it worth it for me to buy N7 ? imo, the nexus 7 isnt a bad choice, if your comfortable with 7" then N7 hands down... if u need a bigger screen i suggest the ipad.

just to share: rooting makes nexus 7 more vulnerable and may void warranty. i strongly suggest not to root it. if u want paid apps for free there's no reason to root it bcoz u can get em without rooting(that's d beauty of android), unlike ios u need to JB.
ps: i m just saying this as i see the OP is already suggesting newbie to root it without knowing what is rooting and pros and cons of doing it.

QUOTE(mtxx @ Sep 30 2012, 12:17 AM) i did mention the rotation apps dont work well in first page. try apex or nova launcher better. the refund is not instant. it takes few hours. i did the refund process and got back my money about 2 hours later. it works well i hope like u said it refunds in 2 hours or the most a day. QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Oct 5 2012, 07:59 PM) Hey guys, is the Nexus 7 good at handling documents? As in, smoothness and all. Specifically PDFs, PPTs and .doc. How do they compare to the iPad (which is undeniably the benchmark)? As in, is it smooth while panning around? Pinch zooming? Flipping pages? On my Galaxy Nexus, they all appear to take some time to render. ezPDF Reader has a crazy long rendering time, while Adobe Reader is still ok. So I was wondering if it's a hardware thing (Galaxy Nexus vs N7 vs iPad) or an app thing (diff PDF reader). If there's an app that can handle documents smoothly I'd gladly consider, coz I've invested too much into the Android ecosystem, and would hate to start all over again on iOS. N7 is still "ok" at reading pdfs and documents on the go. But if u want to read at such small screen, i suggest u get a bigger tablet. IOS no doubt better because of their stock reader integration of PDFs where android lacks.
