Hey guys, I just recently bought a TF300 over the Nexus 7 and I do regret (that thing has big issues); I bought the Asus TF300 over it because of storage size as well as USB friendly access --I'm planning to sell it off or get a refund on it to get a Nexus 7 instead.

I hope you guys can point a newbie to the right places:

I read that I'll have to ROOT the Nexus 7 to get USB OTG access. Is it safe and will it void the warranty?
Can the rooted Nexus 7 power up external hard disks (500GB) for USB OTG usage?

Guys I m wondering weather can buy extended warranty from senq or not? I bought from the USA by the way.

From my experience, the USD1 did not appear in my monthly credit card bill. I believe Google wants to verify your credit card only. I might be wrong but you can try check your monthly statement later.

Guys..i google and seems that N7 got alot of quality problem:
Screen coming off due to cheap glue, sensitivity problem, dead pixels.
Can i know any of you who bought them here in malaysia encounter any quality issues ?

2. Do you guys have the launcher icon for Movies, and Books? Just realised they are gone, previously they were there, probably after I disconnect VPN they gets missing. I can get them back from Uninstalling the updates though.

3. Those of you who are using the book case, do you have problem where sometimes when the "flap" is behind the tablet, it will automatically dim the screen? I am thinking that the magnet is too powerful?

I know in the US you can download maps to use the GPS on the n7. Can you do this in Malaysia also?

Planning to get one today as a b'day present for myself. 

I've updated my previous post to include link from Google Store. So far it just need rooted ROM. Actually it is not a real app you can find in the app drawer after installation, it is just a widget.

1. Download the app
2. Give the root permission
3. Press configure and set the APN, Username and Password. I did change the default dialing number from *99***1# to *99#
4. Connect the modem and press connect.

I lost my DLink 3G modem so I can't test on this modem. Huawei is the replacement. I did survey LYN forum and most of the feedback says the modem is actually good and better than Option or Sierra.

As saying goes there is always a first time n I have very good experience flashing
My tablet cannot even boot to fastboot mode. If can I can easily flash back to stock
Anyway confirm motherboard is fried.. Still don't know how this can happen

you fully on stock rom?
any slight change also will cause it to fail.
