Amazing isn't it? lol
This is the FC I got when leaving Genting Highland yesterday. I saw a few PC going up there also.
Since this FC is acquired in special condition, I think it is not fair to be included into the Hall of Fame for FC. Engah's still the best.

Yesterday morning, i drove up to Genting with full load (4 adult 1 kid). FULL pedal all the way up, feel not powerful enough, easily overtaken by any car except lorry and bus. However still managed to get 13km/l on FC.

So Guys, if anyone have worse FC than 13km/l driving up Genting, please share with us how you managed to squeeze extra power from your PC~~~

Is Prius C suitable for highway travel ie. KL and Seremban on daily basis?
*
Prius C on high speed will surprise you a lot in terms of stability and quietness. This was one of conclusions we agreed during first PC gathering today. Only wind noise is loud. With cruise control, i think it is very good for highway.

Toyota made PC a great car for city drive, traffic jam, highway, lepak at your taman etc but not so good on hill climbing to Genting/Cameron Highland. It is a fuel saving car after all, no car is perfect right? rclxms.gif

sbsoo,

My wife's PC after brake lever adjustment is 4 clicks, which I think is too little, n if I recall corectly, 7 clicks is standard. (BTW, this is after the 1s 1k km service)

Anyway, I did some homework and check the rear wheel freeplay. I found the Left rear to have some interference at a particular spot, as there is a sound each time the wheel rotate pass that point. The Right rear is free as Free Willy. I can rotate the Left rear easily but eventually the frictional part will stop the wheel.

More observations with the PC after 1k km service. The acceleration is very poor. Overtaking a kapcai at 50km/h and increasing speed with pedal to metal was very very slow. I thought my wife who was driving wasn't stepping it more but she told me that the pedal is all the way down already. Something is not right. The car does not have the forward moving urge like it use to be. Furthermore, when cruising around 80kph, the motor doesn't run the car, then engine is the one that is coming on. Seems like the motor is not running at all by itself. Feel that something is holding back the car.

Hand break should be rear break only cos if front the break pad will stick to the disk after journey and pull handbreak

Bro when the Hsd sense ur car is in cruise (not cruise control) only the engine will be running the electric motor will only kick in when power is needed it is common if ur battery is not at 4 bar and above ur car will be less power

Same here too. After 2nd service fc drop. Did the technician reset ur ECU ?

Best wait till 5k setting and then have a look at it.

And maybe can bring to different service centre,

Segambut and Kepong is not bad as i normally service there and no complaint.

thanks again. before they did adjustment, it is 4-5 clicks. mine 1 click seems abit over.....my pc acceleration is ok, but just the respond is slow. i remember i drove once in the highway, i press the pedal for about 1-2 second then my car pickup faster. may be this is how the pc protect overwhelming and damage the systems.

when i drive 90, i can still get 3xkm/l indicator, but not always, i think it have to wait for the gear to be in the high gear then only the motor sufficient power. just like a manual car, when we drive 5th gear, less pedal we need to press.

talk about gear, i heard from my friend, driving on down hill should never put yr gear into n, i till damage yr gearbox badly.

Don't. Put in D at least you have engine braking. As if you use N downhill. Imagine when you need emergency breaking. It will be crutial there. And not sure whether ABS, Traction control and Brake assist will have problem with it.

Enjoy the week ahead guys and girls ^^

The Toyota SA told me that PC only running on 1 gear technology. That why we don't feel the change of gears like the others car. Here you are talking about the changing gears, so I am confuse and wondering who is right? hmm.gif Anyone can enlighten me on this!!! Thank you.....

There is no gear shift for Toyota HSD hybrid cars, it is more like a CVT but better than CVT.

PC is the eCVT, which the gear build with the gear itself. It is a simple but efficient system all control electronically. Try google to find more about Toyota eCVT.

If you are not a engineer, you may confuse how the gear work for a long time due to it uses a new motor gear technology not like the conventional gear for car/bike. (I'm not a engineer, I spent months reading & understand how really it work)

When we going down hill & switch geat to B, more brake regenerate will apply to to slow down the vehicle. This also the only time you may experience the battery fully charge. Else it always maintain 80% for normal drive.

sbsoo,

Thanks. I was advised by a friend that jacking up the car to check the drums brake free play maybe misleading. When the load is on the wheels, the hand brake lever cable tension actually increases. So while you may only feel a little friction when jacked up, there will be more friction when the wheels are under normal load.

Anyhow, this kind of problem will eventually go away as the shoes gets worn. I was advised to just brake hard a few times and just let it slowly wear over time. My wife today says the car is better but still not to the point like before.
