i read this statement from HIH thread.. one of the FAQ answer as below.. " This is one major benefit for having Honda Hybrid car. When the battery is not longer to use, owner still able to drive the car as usual. The engine still drive as normal 1.3l as others. If compare with Toyota Hybrid, they are required battery to start moving the car. The Toyota engine will only kick in from 40km/h above. So below than that, the car will not able to drive. my concern is it correct that toyota hybrid need the battery to start moving the car...?? i think they have wrong info about that... |

if im not mistaken, you cannot start the car if the battery is fully discharged, however, you can still jump start the car via the 12V battery, which is under the rear seat as well.. if all else fails, call Toyota xD
the gasoline engine can kick in anytime, if you don believe, you can try doing fast acceleration from stop =) the engine even kicks in when your batteries are low(normally kick in when your car is at 2 bar for quite some time idling) |

if you leave the car without driving for a month or 2.. the battery will slowly discharge, that's why it is not recommended to leave the car without driving it for at least 30 mins once every 3 months(for those who go outstation)
if you are driving normally, no way the battery will fully discharge..because the HSD will charge the battery when it is low.. This post has been edited by louis198920: Dec 18 2012, 11:38 AM |

two batteries yes
HIV(traction) Battery & 12V Battery(common in all cars) for our PC, when moving in EV, it is only using the traction battery, if this battery is discharged fully, you cannot start the car via the push button.. |

haha, maybe just HV, it's suppose to stand for high voltage.. jump start can be achieved by plugging the jump point of the 12V battery.. I think youtube got video for this..

QUOTE(eeeee7 @ Dec 18 2012, 03:35 PM) Yes, 3 yrs or 100k, including the battery pack. Good news for us, as Thailand is currently assembling Prius and Camry Hybrid, perhaps we can get battery easier and cheaper in the future |

(which is a waste) Therefore Honda Hybrids go 18km/l in average while Prius C go 22km/l in average. 4km difference per liter means PC goes extra 120~160km per tank. Considering we pump petrol every week, there is at least 6240km extra a year.By the way, my SA told be we can jump start our car without open up the battery pack at the rear seats. QUOTE(eeeee7 @ Dec 18 2012, 03:35 PM) 3 yr including the battery.Battery technology is pretty mature now, say an example, how often you have problem with your phone battery? Your battery may drain fast due to heavy consumption but have you ever wake up and found out your battery suddenly die? I would worry more on camber angle, alignment, suspension, radiator, air cond compressor rather than battery. My problem is: When Toyota release Li-ion battery pack for PC, it is very hard not to buy it. |
